Serial # in retail box?

Hi,

I only play for a few weeks and I already don't remember where I put my serial number that came via email. My retail box arrived just today, but I do not want to rip it open. Just to be prepared for the future: Is there a serial included withing the retail package or do I need to keep the serial i got via email a couple of weeks ago?
