Menu code messed up? Game keeps freezing/jerking when using buttons on menu's

I've experienced this a few times now and I know its the game, sometimes when I go to launch a game the game will just hang when I push the button, or when logging in and moving arond the menu, why does it jerk like that? the coding for the menu/buttons seems really sloppy.
