Thinking of Buying... Has the multiplayer connectivity issues been resolved? Could not find direct answer online.

Connectivity problems been resolved?

I downloaded the demo today but when I looked up the reviews on various sites it said there was connectivity issues with the internet multiplayer.  I searched for an answer to if the problem had been resolved but could not find one.  So I was wondering if anyone knows if the multiplayer connectivity issues have been solved by a patch/etc.

If anyone could answer this question because my friend and I want to get a game and this looks awesome, just need to make sure we are actually able to play together.

Short answer is no. Long answer is its better than it was when it was reviewed. Basically if you buy it you might fall in love with the game dispite its issues or you will hate it and wish you never bought it.

The connectivity issues have largely been resolved. Almost everyone has no problem connecting to others one way or another. There are still some disconnects in-game and a few crashes here and there, but many of those are tied to people's specific setups. By and large the game connects just fine online now.

I haven't really had any connectivity issues. However, I do configure my router to allow demigod ports, and I find that was the only thing causing me problems before.

Alterschism is correct, for the vast majority the game works flawlessly.

My estimate based on my own experience... I'd say over 90% of the games I play complete without crashing/desyncing/disconnects.  The terrible things that were going on at launch are long gone.

The number one issue I run into is poor sports who quit the moment they die.  They ruin more games than any technical issue ever could, and that is nothing that you can fault the devs for.

As many of the above-posters I agree. Demigod has problems ofcourse but connectivity is pretty much fixed. Ofc there are a lot other things to be fixed but which game hasn't?

Yes, connectivity has definately been fixed.  I would agree with everyone here.  The only lingering network issue is that most people don't have enough upload so 4v4 or 5v5 can be laggy depending on who is ingame.  Sometimes 3v3 is laggy, but usually only if some idiot is torrenting while playing (or their flat mate).

End of ZehDon's quote

ZehDon is right. There are still occasional problems in multiplayer (as there are for any game), but in my experience they haven't been much of a problem.

to add to this...yes i would agree the majority of the connectivity issues have been resolved, BUT as stated in the initial post...he wants to play with his friend.  GOOD LUCK! once your familiarity is 24% or higher it's hard to get a game with friends.

No worries, I hope you enjoy Demigod as much as I have :)

Except that p2p sucks major balls, all it takes is that one guy with the 7 year old computer or who's downloading 20 hentai movies.
