My god Dragon Age is good

It’s like being back in Baldur’s Gate except with today’s tech.

If you liked Baldur’s Gate and don’t have Dragon Age I’m not saying you’re a bad person…but I’m not saying you’re not.

I mean seriously, if you’re into RPGs then this is a no brainer.

DA kicks ass... few minor tiny little things but other than that... this game kicks some serious ass... And in January ME2! Bioware knows their stuff! |-)

OK, i'll buy it as soon you are making it available for EU in Impulse *poke*.

I had the same exact feeling. It's indeed the best RPG out to date. Bioware outdid them-selves.

i don't think it comes even close to bg (mainly bg II)

the story is predictable (with minor twists) from the start the game feels much smaller and shorter than bg II and what is the biggest problem: the sidequests: too short, too insignificant, too generic

don't get me wrong it is a really good game and the best rpg in years (better then kotor, nvn and the rest of it) but it does not compare to bg II imho

In my opinion this is the best game I have played in a long time. If you liked KOTOR and you liked BGII or NWN2 this is for you. This game takes the best of both. Mages are also not so weak at the start like in D&D games. (Not that DA is a true D&D, more like a hybrid of D&D and RPG)

I love this game!  :inlove:   With more than 60 hours game time in and going for more .... this is causing some problems with my elemental game time :S

Good gaming all, enjoy!

Throwing my hat in for the awesomeness. Finished it twice now, whirring up for playthrough #3.

I'll toss my hat in on that as well!  Just finishing my first playthrough.

This is indeed a great game, and I'm enjoying it a great deal, but there's something that really bugs me about every RPG since Betrayal at Krondor.

It's the compulsion to rummage through every barrel and crate scattered all over every town and forest. There's never anything of value there, but if I don't mess with it, I might be short on money by the end of the game if I haven't accumulated every piece of junk. Never mind that this might be stealing! When I barge into someone's home on official hero business, I don't even say hello until every lock is picked and everything of meager value is collected. Then I say to the resident, "So, who are you?" Combine this with the fact that inventory space is limited and this ends up eating up most of your time. Usually, dungeon crawls must be cut short in order to offload the 60 items of junk on some poor vender who buys any old rotten pair of gloves that you found in a cave somewhere.

I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt a mod for this game, because there's a ton of work involved (toolset looks promising!), but if I do, glittering chests and boxes will be for plot items only LOL.

Yeah, excellent game. ToEE is my all time favourite, but DA is almost as good as ToEE. :)

I was just wondering recently where you've been Annatar. Haven't seen a post from you in ages.

Also, Dragon Age is awesome.

I like it.

*Never played Baldur's Gate*

Also, agree with Cephalo.

What is a Dragon Age? Title doesn't make sense, really takes away any emersion I want as a gamer. Unplayable.

I've been around, haven't been posting much on these boards, just waiting for the Diplomacy beta to hit ;)

I have every intention of getting it.  However, I'll wait until next year when the "gold" or "game of the year" edition comes out with all of the DLC and a proper expansion pack.

Has something to do with a CGI dragon voiced by Sean Connery, I think.

Uh? Really? I've been reviewing every information I could find from wiki/official site/game credits/etc but it seems I've missed a connection...where is Sean Connery in all that?

This game is too awesome... only played 8h, but I already know that I will surely try to clear it using a warrior & a rogue. Plot, characters, spells, fx, music... 2Good2BeTrue

Spent over 110 hours on the game since it was released. I'd say it is probably one of the best games of this decade and well worth the cost. Hopefully we'll be seeing some good DLC come out for it too. The story isn't stellar as far as originality goes, but it's good enough, but what really makes the game is the party interaction and the voice acting. This is a game no fan of RPGs should pass up.

Wow... im almost through my game... school, work, elemental beta(blames Frogboy), and other things are getting in the way... I would of beaten it by now... Wonder what my next character will be... mage or a rogue...?

I've tried Baldurs Gate II but the battles went in 200km/h so couldn't control anything. KoTOR though was normalpaced. Seems I'll get Dragon Age.

??? Couldn't control the battles in BG2? Maybe you're just not used to starting a D&D character at that high of a level? Play through BG1 and then import your saved character over to BG2. It might be easier for you then. Unless maybe you're talking about a technical issue which is making your game run super fast for some reason?

I hate "M" rated games X( <X3  #:( x_x X| cause they are freakishly hard to get with overprotective parents...

It's a joke made in reference to a film called Dragonheart, where Sean Connery voiced a Dragon. He didn't provide any voices for this game, although I bet he wishes he did!
