Trial not functioning well on 64-Bit Windows 7

All in the title

Im afraid I do not have error logs of any kind. When running system restore to remove the installed trial, files got removed and Windows 7 had to use Startup Repair to fix some stuff for some reason I am unaware of.

WindowBlinds 7 first gave an error that said I needed to repair it, and so I did. After, I could not use any of the skins. Double clicking resulted in either a different color of default Aero, or a classic style to popup.

Then, at some point, I obtained a BSOD, after which I decided to run System Restore.

Anyone else having this problem?

No...but I think you have to make sure all the vestiges of the prior installation are gone.

Wish I could help more...but you'll have to go through the file system and make sure all the folders, etc. are gone.

If you have CCleaner or Revo uninstaller (free also) I'd "Cry havoc! Let loose the dogs of war!" set it to a level 3 clean up, then reboot and reinstall. Make sure only to delete  bold face registry links when using Revo.

Good luck!

Do what Doc suggested and it should clear things up.  Remember, uniinstall, run a cleanup program, reboot and then reinstall and reboot one more time.

Where are you downloading the trial version from?

If you get it installed again, open it open and copy and past the system information here.

I'm sure that every remaining file is removed, including new entries in the registry, since I made a system restore point prior to the installation. Reinstalling the application might work, though Ill probably wait till I get my full copy of WindowBlinds.

It does run properly on 64 bit, right?

I can't remember where I downloaded it from, it was from one of these websites (download.com and similar) which posts scene releases. Ill give a shot at the link at the Stardock Site.

If you try reinstall again turn off you Anit-Virus and Securty software.  Depending on what you are using it can interfer with downloading.  Turn the stuff back on after the download.

Hi Philly. Look at the time you beat me by 20 seconds

It was the error that occured the first time, probably due to the trial from that mirror being corrupted. It works now, however there are occasions that I end up with Classic style - I double clicked on the default Aero style.

Here are another few cents: Scrolling the list using the scroll button, makes the styles 'bump against the wall'.

Copy your system information from WBs and post it here.  It still doesn't sound like you have a good download.
