Need Help With My Pure Ooze UB

I'm just wondering what items I should get.

Don't need mana till late level so don't need any mana items.

The items I currently use are:

- banded armor
- scale mail
- hauberk of life
- indestructable boots
- narmoths ring

Anything I should switch for something else?

Any special things I should get first?

Wich artifact would work best? I currently use BoTF.

Here's my skill list:

1: Ooze
2: Inner Beast
3: Diseased Claws
4: Ooze
5: Foul Grasp
6: Inner Beast
7: Ooze
8: Diseased Claws
9: Inner Beast
10: Ooze
11: Diseased Claws
12: Bestial Wrath
13: Bestial Wrath
14: Bestial Wrath
15: Bestial Wrath
16: Bestial Wrath
17: Stats
18: Stats
19: Stats
20: Stats

Should be about right =P

Umm switch Scalemail to Nimoth later on

Maybe put on boots of speed and use Hauberk of Life and switch to Narmoth later on

I like the Bestial Wrath bit though ;)

this build seems to lose to a spit / ooze build though, pre lvl 12

or maybe I'm just getting the wrong items

If you're going to go pure ooze, you will be taking a lot of hits as 100 percent of your attack dmg is through melee. I suggest replacing bestial wrath with inner beast for acclimation at level 15. Acclimation makes you unkillable. You can still get points in bestial wrath, but acclimation will guarantee that you never die.

Blood of the fallen is your best choice

You can go for banded / scaled at start, or a boots of speed. Both serve the same purpose. with the armor, you get more staying power, but you get hit more because you're still slow. With boots of speed you can't get hit as much, but you won't be getting hit as much because you can avoid everyone early game. It comes down to how much you want to micromanage your character, if you don't like clicking a lot, get hte armor off the start. If you don't mind clicking a lot, go for the boots.

I go unbreakable boots before hauberk of life, gives you the mana you need for constant grasp by level 5.

You also need a nimoths chest armor. That should come before hauberk of life. The armor + hp boost is nice

I play a similar build but I tend to put stats in earlier.  I'm not sure if its a good thing though.  It would be great if someone did the math on stats vs. inner beast.

I tend to do:

1:ooze
2:inner
3:stats
4:ooze
5:grasp
6:stats
7:ooze
8:stats
9:Inner
10:ooze

Can anyone fill in the numbers below?  I was going to try using demigoddb.com but it doesn't look like it updates properly...

My build at lvl 10:

Base Attack speed:
Base HP:
Base DMG:
Base Move Speed:

Your build at lvl 10:

Base Attack speed:
Base HP:
Base DMG:
Base Move Speed:

If I look at the tradeoff though, your build has 7% slow and an extra 3%mv+attack over mine and mine has 345 health, 6% attack(no move) and +18 weapon dmg and +75 armor over yours.

I don't know which one is best... what does everyone think?  I'd be interested in seeing if I can improve on my build... I might try your out tonight to see how it plays around level 6-8 where I find mine can stutter a little.

The additional weapon damage and attack speed increase from stats works well with life steal from narmoths rings as well

Demigoddb.com does not accoutn for "stats". you can apply the points but it won't be shown in the details.

Totally forgot about acclimation, pretty much made everything up after lvl 12 since I havn't been in a game as beast where I got to a higher level.

I think this is about the most effective Pure Ooze build that I've found:

  1. Spit
  2. Ooze
  3. Save
  4. Spit + Ooze
  5. Grasp
  6. Save
  7. Spit + Ooze
  8. Diseased Claws
  9. Save
  10. Spit + Ooze

Use blade of the serpent favor item, and keep stocked on potions early on.  People who do a hybrid Oooze, where they use Inner beast instead of Diseased claws, will almost always be at a disadvantage against this much better build.  Stay pure ooze, don't use inner beast!

hahahaha!

too bad I can't quote that!

Pure Ooze:

Level 1: Spit! LOL?

the whole point of this build is to ignore spit so you don't need any mana items so you can stack more health items and get other skill that are more usefull late game

Pure ooze, which I try from time to time and usually fail at, is hard because you're much more fragile than you think.  It takes extreme patience until you're really strong enough to fight any other DG 1 on 1.  The amount of damage you lose from not taking spit is remarkable in the early part of the game.  You need to conserve your HP so you don't need to spend money on potions or return to the crystal.  You're only going to be significatly stronger once you have HP and armor stacked with 5 items.

What I try to do is buy Boots of Speed to start and only farm by the towers and cap flags.  I don't even try to get into a fight because I want to get as much exp and gold as fast as possible.  You can take advantage of ooze early to wipe out creep waves very fast.  But you're not going to be holding flags.  You don't have enough damage to force anyone away without spit and you don't have enough health and armor to outlast anyone.

I still haven't gotten the sense of when to switch over to offense, and I usually do it too early.  This gets me killed a lot.  Eventually, you'll be carrying TPs and sigils and actively seeking DGs to kill off.  Hit ooze, teleport into a fight and kill off the weakest opponent, popping the sigil if needed.  That's the plan.

^^^ This

someone finally agrees with me.

But by capping those flags and farming near the towers you level pretty quick, and you save your gold up. Once I have every item slot filled up im pretty much good to fight. At that point I have 6k+ hp and the spit beast has 5700 hp. As the game progresses, they stay at 5700HP, and I'm around 9k hp.

0g -> 800hp  5hps
550g -> 400hp  5hps
400g -> 600arm
1500g -> 600hp  5hps (800mana)
1500g -> 500hp  750arm
1750g -> 600hp  10hps

After war rank 3 (and currency I) the cash starts to roll. If you get kills or assists you can easily have this before level 7, which will put you over 5000 health and 25hps.

4000g -> 800hp 20hps 8steal (Namoth) which replaces Scalemail or Banded (hard to tell which is better)

Now you should be at 6000hp, and Sigils are your best friend. Remember you only have 20s.

Some use Orb of Defiance, however this uses a consumable slot, so you can't have Sigil, Portals, Locks at once. I've seen this work very well in team ganks though.

Ohh, you mean like, PURE ooze.  Okay, here's my build for that:

  1. Ooze
  2. Save
  3. Save
  4. Ooze
  5. Save
  6. Save
  7. Ooze
  8. Save
  9. Save
  10. Ooze

I'm pretty sure there is no  better pure ooze than this build.  Most others make the big mistake of including non-ooze skills, which just dilutes the purity of the build.  You don't need any items at all with this build, since it only uses ooze.

I don't understand why you would want to go pure ooze.  Late game, you can stack an extra 150 ranged damage a second with spit, and a spit build only really requires 1 mana helm.  I guess your build might work better against an EB / Oak / Sed team, but it seems like a big sacrifice early game for only a marginal stat boost from level 2 and 3 inner beast and level 2 and 3 diseased claws.

An ooze build doesn't need a mana item, when I play hybrid I do need a mana item to keep spitting things. So an ooze build has one extra slot for more health stacking.

And ooze build has more speed / slow so has more chance to prevent the enemy from getting away. Ofcourse spit does this too, but not as good as speed, specially in team fights.

The other skills you can get instead of spit are way better past a certain lvl, I think that lvl is around 12 so I'm not sure wether this build is actually better than a spit build for most games.

Actually I'm pretty sure a hybrid build owns an ooze build till the ooze build gets Bestial Wrath. That doesn't mean a hybrid build is better at owning other things 1v1 though, well it might be, I don't know!

It's just something else to play, who likes doing the same thing every game over and over? =)

@Zechnophobe

when talking about "pure" ooze or not it is not a question about inner beast and/or ooze it is a question about SPIT and/or OOZE.

pure ooze means NO SPIT

spit and ooze are called HYBRID builds

my pure ooze build is as follows:

1. ooze

2. deseased claws 1

3. inner beast

4. ooze 2

5. foul grasp

6. inner beast 2

7. ooze 3

and now it depends on situation:

diseased claws 2 maybe, post mortem if i want to get plague (what i rarly do)  or attributes 1 mainly for the attack speed

inner beast up to acclimation, of course ooze 4 and somewhere later i often take bestial wrath 1, usually no higher rank. more attributes if i don't intend getting plague. sometimes i get foul grasp 2.

he knows that,  he was joking,  you dont have to 'teaching us' all the time like kids lol  (- i found out you are university professor(right?), i was so laughing at that moment; it explains a lot. No offence:grin:  ^_^ )

anyway,

 pure ooze:  (favor botf)

!Great build against generals(+minions), against assassins better is hybrid !

1. ooze

2. inner beast/diseased claws - depends on first items; if speed boots then inner,

3. diseased c /inner b                                              if banded+Scalemail then diseased

4. ooze

5. f grasp

6. inner beast II

7. ooze

8. inner beast III

9. bestial wrath*

10. ooze

11. besti wra II

12. BW III

13. BW IV

14. *save*

15. Unrelenting Wrath + Acclimation!

from 16.-20. you can even max SPIT!!!  That can be very surprising for enemy team if you see game would go that far(very unlikely though), because imo even spit can be easily countered against many generals it would serve its purpose as harass tool (and helping to kill minions with putrid flow!, but ofc only if 20lvl) and forcing them to use their anti-spit abilities before they have planed to do (you can also spit someone you dont focus to kill with your team, and focus sedna, she will heal herself ofc, but her teammate will take damage) Once they loose sedna they are all easier to kill next.  etc, etc...

(hey, you can use Spit for faster destroying of citadel also!)

in normal circumstances you just go extra diseased/post mortem/stats/foul grasp ...

It would be great when Foul Grasp get buffed (it must!! >:( , but ofc after the more needing skills of other 'weaker dgs' ;) ), then beast will have a build more often used than now (with maxed FG!!!), and it will rock!!!

Wow, I think this is the first really 'troll' thing I've done, if we don't count that QoT thread. What an odd feeling.  My two posts were both intentionally snarky, the first saying subtlely that any Pure Ooze build is made better by adding Spit.  The second was just for 'teh lulz' I dare say.

Just to note, I had many lulz indeed.

Ooze is great fun and kicks ass late game

However a spit build will beat it if the other UB stacks speed and mana items ironically enough

Well in my experince

spit build doesn't beat an ooze build, unless given lots of time and no priests support from a teammate

hybrid however does beat an ooze build untill around lvl 12, though this is just speculation

Where are the builds that only take 1 or 2 levels of spit? or better yet where those who get bestial?
