Window Blinds Public 6.4 Build 73 says version expired immediately after installing it

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

I'm running XP Pro SP3 totally up to date. I wanted to do a 30 day evaluation of WindowBlinds so I could compare it with StyleXP and the Windows Customization features of TuneUp and decide which to buy. I downloaded WindowBlinds640_public.exe from filehippo.com and installed it. When I tried to run it, I got the error dialog box which reads "This version of Stardock WindowBlinds has expired. Please download the latest version from www.stardock.com" Clicking the OK button takes me to a WindowBlinds purchase-only window; no 30 day free trial version (public) available. I uninstalled WindowBlinds, rebooted and ran a registry cleaner. Then I downloaded WindowBlinds_6_4_Build_73.exe from apphit.com, compared it with the WindowBlinds640_public.exe file I downloaded from filehippo.com using WinDiff, and found that they're the same EXE file. I installed WindowBlinds_6_4_Build_73.exe and got the same error dialog box again, saying the version I installed has expired.

BTW, clicking the Download button under Free at https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp takes me to  http://download.cnet.com/3001-20_4-10026826.html?spi=f16b21d14cdee5b916b63911fcf1dc64, which has a button to download WindowBlinds6_public.exe -- that's WindowBlinds 6.0 folks; of course that's an expired version. Tell cnet to get up to date with their links.

Is there a real 30 day free to try version of WindowBlinds that doesn't generate an expired pop up message or is Stardock.com just scamming?

Yes, Virginia, there is a free eval version.

At this point, were I you, I would uninstall the free version with Revo Uninstaller (HERE Free). Do a level 3 clean and at the end remove the bold type items ONLY.

I bet this solves the problem.

Download the free version from Stardock.

The Dr. hit a bullseye as far as fixing the "expired" problem. I'm running the 30 day trial now after uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller and using the link at the StarDock site to download the version that's running now (6.4 Build 73). Unfortunately, I've got problems when I run it, but they don't belong in this thread.
