QoT Build request from pacov

Hey - apologies in advance if there are already some excellent QoT builds out there, BUT... I'd like to see a few more.  Cosmoe, would you mind posting your build if there isn't something similar out (along with your basic strat for the build)?  Same thing for you, Obscenitor.  I haven't had the opportunity to play against many good QoT builds at a high level, but I'd appreciate a write up if you guys have the time.  If somethings already written and I missed it, please post a link.  And, all that said - if there is already an awesome build (eg not zechnophobes invincible QoT Build), any links would be great.  I play an ok - decent QoT, but nothing near the level of Cosmoe and more than likely Obscenitor.  Thanks!

I play QoT in an interesting fashion.  I get Spit at level 1, and then Ooze at level 2. I'll save 3 and then get spit and ooze again (both) at level 4. I'm pretty sure this is the best way to go about it. Also helps to get Blade of the Serpent, or Heavan's Wrath.

All kidding aside, when I play her (I think I did that once) I used basically Homestar's build.  She has only 3 playable skills, might as well use them.

my shamblers/shield build is :

1- shamblers I (except if cosmoe rook asked for an immediate shield in the lobby and finally do not TP)
2- shield I
3- entourage I
4- shield II
5- entourage II
6- shamblers II
7- shamblers III
8- entourage III
9- compost  / shield
10- compost  / shield
11- compost  / shield
12- compost  / shield
13- compost  / shield
14- morale
15- tribute

I summon shamblers & monk at the crystal then go for fight. In the beginning if you are alone in your lane the shield and some prudence gives a good staying power and harass from your minions might give you lane control (depending on the player you face) ; if you are two in your lane make your mate understand that you wont spam shield him, because shield is your primary self buff and you already brought monk for him, if the ennemy leave the lane dual shield and attack tower.
Up to level 8 I do not really care about mana : shield II is quite powerfull, and ennemies wont know if you have taken a better shield or not, they will only see that you do have a shield activated (this can discourage them), so I generally go for more & better shamblers. beyond that point, shield sometimes become essential to QoT (meaning mana becomes an issue too) if you want any survivability, choice is given between compost and shield depending on how the 1v1 situation turn. Basically you want to have a shield active 99% of the time, if the ennemy can break the shield before cooldown then upgrade the shield, otherwise get compost which is a huge dps boost.

This build is not the funniest : you play almost the same way for ALL the game (shamblers + shield, nothing more). I generally take cloak of the night as favor because when your shield is broken and cooldown not over, you better escape the fight, really.

I play Rook very rarely (for fun) and the item buy order has not yet burned itself into my mind. As a consequence I did not buy 2 tele scrolls as I originally wanted and had to walk all the way home to our shop from the enemy Reinforcement boni flag on Leviathan. Could have had a smoke in the meantime.  :)

But that game was awesome, Shield spam made our enemies quite mad.

Regarding your build: Try Mulch sometimes, at 2nd level it really makes you quite unkillable, whereas Compost isn't really worth it imho.

I have a build with mulch, but it does not satisfy me plenty. Yet since my 2 builds are very close from each other, I can decide at level 9 to take mulch other compost.

In the shamblers + shield build, you basically dont care about your life : you are supposed to be shielded as soon as an ennemy is in sight. This mean that you wont spam shield your mates (except on leviathan ;) ). Compost looks a good damage boost (according to numbers) that stacks well with shamblers.

Mulch is one of the hardest ability in the game to master IMHO : 5000 range + best heal in the game + area damage. Most of the time you use the spell only to heal on a shambler that is close to you, but not close enough of the ennemy : this is a waste.

I intensively use it for its area damage and farming at distant lanes. You need to do a lot of micromanagement and need to have proper anger management though. Stupid Shamblers, not going where you send them or walking into tower range!

Summon shambler : 1 point

Mulch shambler, Bramble shield, Ground spikes, Spike wave : max

End game : Tribute

At the very beginning of the game, shield all your teammates while they are still at base, it is free and will help taking an early advantage. As it makes loose time, I use to wait a bit more and buy a lock, which is a way like another to compensate the time loss.

Favor item : Anklet. First items : armor, helm, and flag lock. Don't laugh xD. Anklet because it is an aggressive build. Harass the opponent. You have a shield and you can attack fleeing enemies. It means you can still chase them while being attacked by an enemy tower. They will loose a lot of hp, while you will loose nothing. Therefore you will have the flags, and that's the most important. With the help of a teammate, you can get some kills by surprising enemies with that strategy. That's also why you need armor and helm : you need mana and shield.

In my opinion, it is a bit better to use anklet instead of cloak, because you can do a lot more damage at the beginning of the game, just by harassing enemy demigods.

Do not use the shamblers to fight, just summon them and keep them at base. Consider them as two free potions. Indeed, as Mulch shambler has an infinite casting distance, it enables refilling hp at any time, without having to summon during an intense fight. It saves time and mana, so it saves life. You could use them to farm, but personally I find the summoning skill too expensive.

Stay in closed mode until Ground Spikes III, which drops armor quite enough to be interesting. You do not need its area of effect before its 3rd level, you already have the small AoE of the standard attack in closed mode. Except to farm large amount of troops. At middle map on cataract for example, with Ground Spikes II + Closed mode AoE, your team gets 100% of monsters gold in a few seconds. But do not use it for small groups, your team needs Teh Shield and you need mana.

Spike Wave should not be used for other purpose than slowing an enemy down, as shielding team + groundspiking is already very mana-consuming.

So, at the beginning or the game, it is shielding only. When you have Ground Spikes III, you must constantly switch between both modes. However, do not use ground spikes for its damage, only use it when you know its armor dropping effect will be useful AND no one of your teammates needs a shield. Do not use it on a fleeing enemy who will take poor damage during the next 5 seconds. Most of your mana is still dedicated to Bramble Shield.

With Ground Spikes IV, take towers down. An armor-dropped tower takes 500-600 damage each time you attack it.

Items : Vlemish Faceguard, Plenor Battlecrown, Nimoth Chest Armor, Boots of Speed, Priest Idol

All the rest goes to citadel upgrades (but don't take first currency if you did not kill at least one demigod, except if no one in your team did :P) and lock/tp

Do not forget that your shamblers are teleported with you, so don't feel surprised if your two cute free potions have vanished ^^
