So I'm finishing my third full game tonight and it's very easy. I'm taking a step-by-step approach to learning Dread Lords. And I'm poking along half paying attention and rolling over the enemy then BAM! Korx decide they're gonna roll out a Precurser Ranger that they just happened to find??? With 24 Mass Driver 16 Armor and 60 HP? And my most powerful ship has 2 damage and no shields??? lol I busted out laughing. Very sneaky! Then after amassing a huge fleet the Precurser Ranger dissappears and I never see him again >:( . 2000 point game yay.

Now that I've had some time to read up I see the Precurser Ranger hasn't been without controversy.

Finding a Ranger is a random event, and it sounds like before that happened you were having a really easy time of it.  Probably time to up the difficulty level and give the AI a fighting chance! ;)

Actually, I was falling behind and all of a sudden I started 'finding' precurser Rangers, and ended up having 18 of them :D , almost one per turn. Didn't really help though, since they are very vulnerable to frigates with lasers / missles >:( .

Same time though, when I was doing very well, I noticed some of the AI's were finding Rangers and precurser Corvettes.
