Demigod w/ DSL Light ?

Im on DSL light, that means 46 kb down and 7-8 kb up. Apparently i cant even play 2vs2 without my ping being anywhere from 300 to 700. Is it meant that way ? I can play FPS with 40 people just fine, as well as stuff like DoW, WC or SC. How comes i cant even play this game with 4 people ? Bad coding ?

FPS use servers, this games connection is P2P so its something on your end.

What about SC, WC and DoW then ? Why cant gpg use a code similar to 95% of the other games out there instead of doing is shitty like this ?

Perhaps you should look up the difference between KB and K lol.

Besides, if you quote, quote correct. There is difference between what i posted and what you quoted.

Wow, I wonder if you realize what a jerk you are being?

Go to speedtest.com and post results for upload here.

Cant you friggin read. I POSTED my upload not only once, but twice.

Its 7 - 8 kb per second which equals 0.07 - 0.08 mbit.

Wonder who is the jerk now.

So, apart from being stupid, does anyone know what upload is required per player ? i.e. 3 kb upload per player would mean you can do fine in a 3vs3 given you have 18 kb up.

Yes we do but we would like you to go to speedtest.com to get a real determination of your speed, not the ESTIMATE from your ISP.  A search will quickily give you the per playert bandwith cost.  We would be happy to help if you gave information and worked with people.  Doubt I will check this thread again.

I find it very funny that you insist on speedcheck instead of believing what im telling you.

As demigod uses a peer-to-peer networking system, each player must transmit and receive from all other players simultaneously. Unfortunately it is unlikely that such a low upload speed (only 2x dialup) is going to be sufficient for any reasonable level of online play with Demigod.

Ok.

First, lets take a look at Demigod:

Then maybe, take a look at the requirements for online play:

DSL light is not (!) broadband, thanks.

Next time, read the requirements :)
