Screen brightness - a potential customer

Toshiba laptop

Hello,

My problem is as follows: I purchased a new Toshiba laptop several weeks ago, and its screen is very, very bright. Even with the lowest possible brightness level, it is still visibly brighter than my previous Toshiba laptop, which was just perfect - I could work many hours a day without any headaches. As a translator, I obviously have to stare at the screen a lot, which is impossible with the new laptop. The strain on my eyes is enormous and my productivity is lower since I have to make long breaks more frequently than I would like to.

What I would like to know:
1. Will WindowBlinds solve my problem?
2. If so, is the solution included in the trial version, or do I need to purchase the product right away? That would not be a problem but if I had the option to try it first, I would certainly use it. I suppose the 19.95 USD version is the right one for my needs.

What I expect WindowBlinds to do for me: I will create a new skin with the desired level of darkness. I will activate it, and it will affect any application I open (MS Office, dictionaries, Internet browser, translation software). Is it so simple?

Thanks.

This should help you.

It's free... LINK. It'll control your screen brightness just put in your longitude and latitude.

Windowblinds makes it better at ALL latitudes and longitudes! :sun:

Using darker skins will hepl a little but they will still be bright if your display is.

The skin I am using now is basicly black at brightness of 20, where I have monitor set it looks fine, setting brightness at 100 and even the dead black parts are bright, I would not be able to use at that setting very long. Even the black almost has a glow to it.

Have you tried any other/all the settings for your monitor or just the brightness, try contrast, does it have a gamma setting, this will help darken it up also.

Have your tried from desktop display properties, settings, advanced, color settings for your video card, there should be gamma, brightness and contrast there.
