Instead of thanking the Customs/Security folks for doing their jobs, this jerk whines about his 'humiliating mistreatment.'  OMG, a one hour delay!!  And then his government gets in on the whining act.

And what does our Ambassador do?  Gets on his knees and sucks d**k apologizes.  Disgusting.

No wonder Hollywood/Bollywood types are so overwhelming supportive of legislators who so assiduously assure they are not subject to so many of the laws they write.  They believe that certain classes of people (chiefly actors & politicians, two variations of the same profession) are not only better and smarter than the rest of us, but above the law.  They're so used to being ushered to the front of the line that they've lost all perspective, not to mention respect for ordinary citizens.

I think I'll make a point of avoiding this guy's next film.

I doubt throwing around propagandic terms and railing against the guy is going to solve anything, eh? I agree that they did their job, and I commend then. However, there's a line to be drawn though between questioning a some stranger, and a guy who has credibility and is known.

I think an option that should be considered is, instead of a list of suspicious names, start a list of cleared names and bios. That way, if it shows up that you're on the list, and that you're cleared - then it's all good.

 

Thought Slumdog was a very enjoyable flick, though.

Sure thing, lol. I just kept re-reading it then double checking the movie's page at IMDB 'cause I didn't remember him being the movie, and it's one of my faves.

Mmm, I can agree partially. Still, I understand his, and many other people's frustrations with the post-9/11 - in some cases - borderline paranoia/fear of terrorism. It's all well and good to make sure it doesn't happen again. don't get me wrong, I think we need to be careful, but I think we also need to be careful not to get....too cowboy-ish, you know?

Maybe; but then, if it DOES happen again, and people weren't made to wait in line for all the "paranoia/fear", can you imagine the reaction? Which would be worse?

True, very true; it's certainly a problematic line - security and...for lack of a better term, normalcy.  Personally, I'm not a fan of Pascal's Wager type of things, it comes across as an excuse (at times) for keeping things as they are, complacency if you will.
