Connectivity Screen pops up

A friend is having an issue with the connectivity screen popping up while a game is being played the screen sits for about 3 seconds, disappears and comes back again throughout the game.  This happens about 5-6 times and then he gets disconnected. He has noticed this since the last update. the connectivity screen has come up since he purchased the game but the disconnection he has noticed since the last update. The disconnection happens only with the server (game). he is still connected to the internet and even to vent.  He is connected directly to the modem, uses windows vista and uses a laptop to play. If anyone can please help...
