proxy connection HIGH ping

For about a week now Demgod Internet games have been unplayable because every time I (proxy) connect, the ping is outrageous.. 600ms+

Non-Proxied connections have normal ping 40-160ms

I have a comcast business broadband connection geographically located in Detroit, MI

What is the good word?
