Can't download patch?

As soon as I launch Demigod I get a window telling me that I need a patch to play online. If I click to download the patch my game closes and takes me back to desktop.

Is there another way to get the patch?

Do I need to register or something first?

Are you using impulse and attempting to update the game from there?
