Number of Demigod players? Find out here

I was fooling around in the pantheon stats today and noticed something interresting.

There are 1,279 pages of players in the ranking system, each page containing 20 players, or 25,580 registered user accounts. Of those 1,279 pages, 850 or so are full of players with stats of 0 wins and 0 losses with play times ranging from a few minutes to many many hours. I'm guessing these 17,000 players are registered and haven't played the game since the stat reset. That leaves about 8,000 players that have played online in the last 2 weeks since patch 1.1 was released.

I checked to see how many players have played more than 10 games since patch 1.1 and it doesnt really start until around page 1100, leaving 179 pages of 20 players that have played more than 10 games in the last 2 weeks, or 3580.

Before you ask, yes I chose 10 games as an arbitrary number suggesting someone that plays more than casually.

I think these numbers reflect perfectly the kind of stats that SD's player tracking page displays (http://www.demigodthegame.com/opengames.asp), which shows about 1,500-3,000 people playing online at any given time (from down time to peak time). Those stats can easily be backed up by 4,500 casual players with 3,500 highly active players.

  • There are approximately 25,600 players that have bought the game and registered a user account
  • There are about 17,000 idle users that haven't played in the last week since patch 1.1 and the stat reset
  • There are approximately 4,500 casual players that play less than 10 games a week
  • There are about 3,500 dedicated players that play more than 10 games a week around the globe

Demigod has sold 100,000 before the European launch on May 29th.

Demigod has sold around 150,000 copies in the US for both online and stores now.

That's a lot of people playing single player.

They really need to fix the ladder and not rank players that haven't played at all.

Except that they said the number shows current online players.  Getting 3.000 logins per day does not equal 3.000 online players.  But I think you're right, seems like they are counting logins or something like that.
