RIP Billy Mays

Television pitchman Billy Mays — who built his fame by appearing on commercials and infomercials promoting household products and gadgets — died Sunday, FOX News confirms.

Mays was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry to May's residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.

Mays, 50, was on board a US Airways flight that blew out its front tires as it landed at a Tampa airport on Saturday, MyFOXTampa.com reported.

I live in the Tampa area, and our local Fox station interviewed him after he got off the plane yesterday....he said he got hit in the head with stuff falling from above him.  I just wonder if he suffered a concussion...if he did, that could explain his death.  So sad....

I was going to post on this, so thanks, Spencer. I was driving when I heard this...very possibly what happened to Liam Neeson's late wife Natasha Richardson (epidural hematoma).

What I wish to write, though is an apology. Like many on that thread, I bashed him. While I am not recanting what I felt then, I am feeling sick at the moment that I was so vehement in my expression.

Well, I now understand the reason for the Cmmandment "Thou shalt not curse a deaf person."

I feel it has cost me a piece of my humanity, so I'll try to learn from this and do better.

After all, he was just trying to make his way in the world, and no one forced me to sit and listen. There is a 'mute' button for a reason. Better to moderate one's criticism than feel this way. I think I'll install some delay software between my brain and my fingers/mouth.

its alright doc we all have done the same one time or another i liked him drove my son up the wall he would just change the channel
