Windowsblinds missing in Impulse with ObjectD Ultimate subscription

Is there anything more annoying than  when you've paid for some expensive software and the licensing is preventing you from getting it??!! XO

I have an ObjectDesktop Ultimate subscription that lasts well into 2010.

After I tried installing WB 7 I got some error messages from WB 6 and decided to uninstall it in Impulse.

However, WB 7 didn't even run on my machine (Vista U) so I wanted WB 6 back. But I cannot get WB6 to appear as an option in Impulse and there seems to be no other way to get it!

I have tried EVERYTHING including re-installing Impulse, trying to download the shareware version of WB6 to register (won't run, says 'get the retail version'), but nothing works.

I would really appreciate some advice on how to get WB 6 back !  Any way is fine!

I have plenty of other subscriptions and licenses with Stardock and I feel so angry and cheated that I can't use my software when I want to! What was that address again... www.pirate..... ???? >:(

That does sound like a mess, but it shouldn't of happened.  Impulse, under My Software should have showed WB6 and WB7 as seperate pieces of software.

You could use the restore function in Vista and restore back to a point before the problems occured.  That should get you back to having WB 6.  If that works and gets you back to where you where then you should see both WB 6 and WB 7 in Impulse.  If it's not I would then click on the Impulse Icon in the top left hand corner and select preferences and then sslect Reset Data.  Let that run and it should prompt you to close Impulse and reopen.  That should work.

Come back and let us know if it did or not.

You can also try "reset data" in Impulse. I only mention that because you didn't in the OP....and make sure the AV's and FW's are off...sorry to mention it, but sometimes I forget to do that...

From Doc's pic, uncheck show pre-release versions.

Firstly, the forums are basically used by members just like you to ask questions, to try to assist others with Stardock program issues and also  as a means to socialize with others.  If you have a complaint about a Stardock program your best bet is to contact them directly at [email protected].  You have made this post in the 'General Discussion' section which may or may not be seen by Stardock Support.  I can relocate the post to the Stardock Support section if the suggested fixes don't work.

Statements such as that are not conducive to members wishing to offer assistance in resolving your issues.

You have received several suggestions that may fix what you are experiencing.  If not, then let us know and we will try something else and if we (the WC members) can't get it working for you, then you should email [email protected].

Stardock Sales and Support are staffed Monday-Friday (9am-4pm EST). Every effort is made to respond to queries as quickly as possible, though mails sent after-hours and on weekends will generally not be seen until the following work day.

Looking at this and many of your posts in the past, you seem to have a lot of problems that someone with your experience should be able to figure out.

From one of your earlier posts... "I work in IT and consider myself a very experienced techie".

If that is the case, you should know that the Support staff is who you should be talking to and not ranting about this and the possible use of pirated software in the "General Discussion" forum.

Cordelia, it's unfortunate that you have struck a problem, however on two levels it's of your own making.  Firstly expecting total success with experimenting with a Beta OS [Win7 RC will NOT give you that], and secondly, not backing up potentially 'important' software/data prior to doing so.

You WILL have your program restored, either via assistance from the forums or via Stardock Support [if needed], but I'd strongly suggest avoiding warez dl vers..... I have one or two of them and they are NOT 'safe', not when a decent AV proggy frowns at you for having them...;)
