Team Treaty - how can I turn this off??

Whenever I start a new 'normal' scenario game now I find I am automatically being "teamed" up with an AI race.

A look in the relations section indicates I have a "team" treaty with some random race.

I can't for the life of me find where to turn this off? Anyone seen this before?

Probably staring me in the face but I am tired.

When you select opponents, make sure the relations bar doesn't show team.
