Application Exlusion not working

I'm trying to exlude Adobe Photoshop CS3 from being skinned with WindowBlinds v6.4 on Windows Vista while using the No Name skin: http://amaeli.deviantart.com/art/No-Name-55517630

I have tried ticking skin only titlebar and also tried ticking the total exlusion option, but it is still skinning after clicking Apply Changes.  I have also tried un-applying (or w/e) the skin back to Windows Vista's Aero and going back to No Name, but it still won't exclude it.

Edit: "Controls in applications which are not themeaware should not be skinned" doesn't seem to be working correctly either, but I could just be misunderstanding how that works.

and you are doing this with PS closed first, yes?

sometimes a reboot after selecting the app to be excluded helps

Yeah, I tried having PS closed first with all of the tries I listed.  I just tried a reboot and it didn't work either.

I don't have vista or PS

you might want to start a ticket at support f a search thru the forums doesn't help

what I have found for me is those apps those don't look/work right with some skins do look/work okay with others - one of the ones I use for those apps is Antares - I set the per app exclusion to only skin certain apps with that skin (i use the static version of antares on those)

Are you sure the app is still being skinned vs just the system colour scheme being applied?

What's the difference?  Do the skins change the system colour scheme?  PS displays as almost all black (the color of the skin) so that boxes and lines in the menus and such don't show up.  I'm stuck having to guess where stuff is.  It all looks the same as the title bar.

try a fallback skin with light menus like Antares

If you mean setting a certain application to use a specific skin, I tried using a light skin for that particular app (and internet explorer as well), and it's not changing anything.  I don't have any options selected for those apps other than for them to use the lighter skin.

The system colors are set by the main skin and many Adobe Products do not skin due to their custom interface. They do however inherit the system colors even if they are set to total exclusion.

The only real solution is to use a skin that applies appropriate system colors. Dark skins are always problematic. You may want to install Skinstudio and change the skin's system colors yourself.

If you like you can try this.  It takes care of most of my dark skin problems in my ancient version of Adobe Photoshop.  It creates a new substyle for the skin and does however change the specified color system-wide, not just for Adobe.

Back up your skin first in case you botch it up (it happens).

Open up Windowblinds Configuration.

Click on "Colours" in 2nd tab row.

Click on "Change system colours" text link, about the middle of the window on the right side.  New window comes up.

Underneath "Select a substyle to edit", click on the drop-down arrow on the right side of the theme field. New window pops up.

Enter a new name for the substyle (maybe "Adobe"?), click on "Create" button. That window closes.

Your new substyle name should now be showing under "Select a substyle to edit".  Now, in the "Select a colour to edit" list,  click on "System Colour - ButtonFace" item to highlight/select it (should be 6th item in list).  Then click on "Change colour" button.  Typical Windows color-picker window opens up.  Pick a lighter shade and click "OK".

Click on "Close window" button to close "Change skin colours" window.  Click on "Apply changes button" in upper right of main Windowblinds window to have a look at what you've done.

Rinse and repeat if you like.

That would be about the closest I've ever come to creating a WB skin.o_O
