Wont work in LAN.

Have tried everything.

I need help in finding whats wrong.
I have two computers and i want to play Demigod in Lan.

I have turned off all firewalls.
I have tried installing it with all updates individually on both computers.
I have tried making a clean copy of Demigod on one compiter and moved it to my other computer.
I have tried open all ports on my router.
I have tried conecting the computers directly by cable without anny middle hands.
I have tried with and without hamatchi.
I can ping both computers, and i can talk to myself in the chat room of the game.
I have tried with and without Impulse.
I have checked network prioritys.

What i cant do, is finding a game when i have hosted one. So i cant join with the other computer.

Im getting bored of sitting day after day trying to get a game to work in LAN. So im asking for help.
Thx for you time.

Messing with ports on the router and Hamatchi won't really help for LAN play, and unless you have static IP addresses assigned to the machines the direct cable connection probably isn't working for you.  Make sure both games are the same version (which it sounds like they are) and make sure both machines are on the same subnet.  Try pinging from one machine to the other to make sure they're talking.

I used the old 192.168.0.2 and .3 ip on 255.255.255.0 sub-net.. But i will try it out again with the new patch and all.
How did you make it work ?
Just installed it on both computers and woala ?

Did you use Impulse on both computers ?

It woud be nice to have a step buy step manual that i could follow to se what i have missed.
You dont need to make it long.

Thx for you time m8.

Shirley: there are several threads of people that can't play this game via LAN. It sounds like a small bug is preventing them from seeing eachothers game. Might be worth a looksee.

What exactly do you mean by "without hamachi"? You have to uninstall it completely.

First of all. Thx for your help Shirley your post made me try once more with your idea. I dont honestly know what i did this time that i havent done the othere times. It worked now (might have been the patch ?)

I got it working in a smal degree.
I can join a game and play.

But the conection is lost after 1-10 min of playtime.
And after that i cant even ping ? The only way to get it working again is to restart both computers.
The problem comes after i have played demigod.
If i dont play demigod i dont lose the conectione between the computers. I find this wierd.

Im using windows XP on one of them and windows 7 on the othere. Can this be an issue ?
Some sort of conflict between them?

Well, do you have hamachi still installed?

Nope, he uninstalled it completely.

A little update on the problem. We (he) got it working again. No more connection lost. The game however freezes for a second every 15-20 seconds. Doesn't disrupt the gameplay, but it gets annoying after a while.

Still haven't gotten it to work between mine and his though. Will install Windows 7 and see if that helps.
