Good old Direct3d

Alright so I bought the game, and I installed it and read through the manual.

 

Before I even started the game I made sure I had all the minimul req.

 

-Vista SP1: Check

-2.4 Prossessor: Check

-1 GB Ram and 8 free BG of harddrive: Check, Check

-Directx 9.0c: Check, even have 10.0

-128 MB 3d Video Card: Check

 

Then i get the error "Can not create Direct3d drive"

So I figured my Video Drivers were out of date, so I went to update those, nope same error. I ran dxdiag, and it said everything was good to go.

 

Can somone please help.

What type of video card are you running?  If you're not sure of the model video card you have, you can go to Start->Run(or Start Search in Vista) and type 'dxdiag' and hit enter. Once everything loads, please click the "Save all information" button and attach the output file (called DxDiag.txt) in an email to [email protected]

 

Minimum  requirement:

  • 128 MB 3D Video Card (ATI Radeon X1600 / Nvidia GeForce 6800 or better)

Thats a really generic way to post what your video card is....

Is is onboard, or aftermarker?  Reguardless whats the make and model, so we really know its specs.

I'm getting the same error on the VAIO VGN-NR490E Laptop (unable to create Direct3D).  There is a newer driver out at Intel support (15.12.4.166), but Sony hasn't updated their video drivers (7.14.10.1295) and I wasn't able to get any information on when they would.  Here is my system information, Pease help...

That right there is your issue.  That video card does not meet the minimum requirement to run Demigod.

It doesn't have dedicated memory, it shares with the RAM.  As long as it is sharing 128 MB worth of memory, he has enough.  His shared is at 358, so he is good.

Ok, integrated not cutting it would make sense.

I was getting ready to leave and forgot to to add the line that said the video card he supplied didn't meet the system requirements anyway.

My post above was only stating the memory requrements :)

This isn't 100% true. I had some trouble with my Mobile intel 965, but after doing a driver uninstall and reinstall/update to latest version. i am able to run the game. I am using my lenovo T61 Laptop. I hope this helps. The update for the intel 965 can be found here:

Just click on drivers and follow the instructions to download.
