System freezes

System freezes with Demigod with I7 and Windows 7

I know you will say. We dont support Windows 7 RC or something like that.

Anyways.. When I start playing a small multiplayer game, within a few minutes my system just completely locks. The screen goes black. I hear the sputtering of the sound.

I just installed the game today. I normall play WOW for hours on end in raids without any problems.

I am running an Asus P6T with an I7 920 (not overclocked)

6 GB Corsair DDR3

PNY 9800 GTX+

Seagate 1 TB SATA Barracuda drive

Samsung SATA DVD

Antec 300 Case

Not sure what you've tried already, so here goes a few ideas:

Video and audio drivers as up to date as possible?

DirectX up to date as possible?

Have you tried running in Windowed video mode?

Tried turning down the audio quality settings and turned off the Reverb option?

Tried disabling non-essential programs running in the background?

And your wondering your issue? Either you know your shit because thats not a newb rig ... or you bought it at some overpriced site ... OR you just have a nice friend. If you know your shit and said that in your 1st sentence and ... yet ignore it? Why would you do that? You most likely answered your own questions unless one of the things from Dash up above applies to you.

Idk .. that just baffles me how you can answer your own shit and still wonder. Sometimes people just have issues on an un-supported OS and some don't. Luck of the draw imo.

(Also it can't be your i7 ... people play w/ them on vista just fine plus i run a quad to just fine w/ the game).

hey makerz come on this is some blub...

demigod is one of the few applications that keeps freezing my old school conservative windows vista system as well...i still wonder...i hope they'll get it fixed but pretending it's the own system all the time won't really help.

Well Makerz, I know my shit. I built the system. I am just checking to see if anyone else is experiencing any issues with Win7 and this game.

So to assist with your viewing pleasures:

I rolled back video drivers. (Did have the latest drivers from nvidia)

no other options for audio drivers.

Flashed the BIOS (it was 2 rev's behind).

It is an ASUS board, but they dont have any drivers for the MB.

CHanged settings in the game to all low.

Disabled the onboard nic and used an older broadcom 10/100 card. Enabled wireless (b/g).

tried a variety of screen resolutions.

Since it only happens with internet play I was leading more towards networking. I will keep tinkering. The game looks pretty fun.

Blub? WTF is blub? You make no sense lol.

And if its freezing your vista system we need to find out why. I am running Vista-64bit-ultimate here. No issues what-so-ever so ... :omg:

Overclock that shit.

I didnt try the game when I had 64 bit Vista Ultimate.

I just installed a realtek NIC.

I will most likely overclock it once I get the production version of Windows 7.
