Demigod quitters - you suck!

Demigod quitters - you suck!

I played 10 games yesterday and players quit in NINE of them.  Ironically, the only one that went to the end was one I lost - go figure.  WTF people?  I'm not talking about "hey man, good game, you got me" then quitting.  I'm talking about people just being pissed off that they were losing and dropping.  Again, I say WTF?!?  Why do people always quit?  Take your beating like a man and move on.  It's virtually impossible to play a game to the end these days!

So I say to you Demigod quitters - you suck!

Exactly. In a real sport, you stay and play because you're still having fun and using skills.
End of quote

If you're getting brutalized in a real sport it's not fun.  It's the same in Demigod, you can still use skills while losing.  In fact, it's probably better training.

Well, I had a game recently where the enemies started ragequitting because the game started out for the first 10 minutes as a cat and mouse game of capturing each other's flags. Very little real action taking place. And they left for that reason I guess. Which is a shame, because those matches where you're constantly staring each other down, trying to get one moment where you can get ahead are always the best ones, because you know your opponents are just as ready to fry you as you are to fry them. It's a shame because it could have ended so well, but it ended up as an AI slaughterfest.

I wonder: Lets say there is a 4v4 game of MP Demigod, and one team was losing badly, everyone in the game was suddenly, magically teleported into a volleyball court together, and they were still playing 4v4, only volleyball (or ANY other team sport) but they could see each other.  Even if your badly losing the game, 98% of people would not quit, they'd play till the end, and give the low-five to everyone on the other team.

Yet, because it's a "computer" game, often that sence of honor and sportsmanship goes out the window.  I've never seen in my entire lifetime (with my own eyes at least) any board game, or any sports game where a memeber just says "F-It!", and leaves the rest of the team; only in online computer games.

Perhaps, Stardock being so creative and connected to it's customers, could think of ways to curb this.  Just having serious players having to register with their email and some other info before they could compete in a special "honor zone" or something like that would go a long way.  I'd gladly register (with moderate personal info) for such a place to play.

i disagree, i mean in baseball games there are things like run limits.

I have to say I really like that idea about conceding, i mean considering that in ive not seen a pantheon game have more than 4 players it would be used.

Well be careful what conclusions you jump to there, they may have just suffered from sloppy net code.  I'm certain that a lot of the leavers I've encountered didn't choose to leave.  I've certainly been disconnected from games that I'd prefer to stay in before

Hmm, let me recall some of the game I played today. Out of 9 games or less, I quit one. DAMN, that was bad.
