NVIDIA Drivers Reset/Crash during game.

Hi all,

I recently downloaded DemiGod, but there are some minor concerns with my video drivers.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512 MB ram, and downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia (from may 17).

The problem I have is that during certain games, the video drivers reset. What happens then is the screen goes to grey, pops back to Vista, giving me a graphic display error about the drivers, and then saying that video drivers have been restored, and pops back to the game. All together takes about 8 sec orso, but its kinda annoying if it keeps happening multiple times during a game, and I find myself dead after those 8 secs.

I tried to roll back to older vidoe drivers as well from April 30th, but I get the same problem. My graphics are set to high (res. 1650x1080, duel screen). Should I maybe lower graphics settings?

Anybody got similar problems, and how can I solve them?

Cheers,

LS

You are running dual monitors? I would say thats your only issue.

I have read a couple of other threads / talked with other people that have had issues with 2 screens. If you disable the 2nd you should be fine and be able to play. Or try window mode ... that might fix it to? :P.

Thx,

I will try to switch off the 2nd monitor and run in window mode and see if its more stable.

try other driver versions.

I have to use a really dated driver because all newer ones won't work at all for me.

I use forceware 182.5, which is the last stable version for my Geforce 8800GTS.

Playing the game in Windowed mode seemed to solve the problems.

This also happens on my ati 3870x2 occasionally. Maybe once out of every 6-10games. It recovers but messes up gamma or unit textures sometimes.

Happens to me too, but only for the past week.  It was perfect before that.  I get this with other games as well, some selective ones.  Has something to do with the drivers or specific games and how they treat the drivers, but I have never been able to figure it out.  There's a bajillion posts on the net regarding this issue over multiple games.
