I can't join chat from in game

Hi, I just bought the game and downloaded from Impulse and playing right now. But I can not join chat from in game is this general problem or is it just me, by the way I can join chat from Impulse. You can see this from the screenshot.

my friend is also having a problem with the in-game chat function. it bugs out on him:

he also has the latest drivers installed etc..

What about my problem? I tried /reconnect command multiple times and I can join after doing this. Will you fix this in future, it is so annoying?

Yea same problem here, disconnected due to "excess flood" when ever I try to join chat.

I also have the same problem: "Closing Link" due to "Excess Flood". Connecting from Impulse works fine, though. Any feedback on this yet?

It's a rather annoying problem. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the "Excess Flood" issue when trying to connect in game. Wonder why we can connect via Impulse but not in game.

I've only ever had excess flood when I logged into chat via impulse, then logged in via the game... and then, only once (eg not reproducible for me).

i get the excess flood message everytime i open up chat within game.  typing reconnect just gets me a flood message again.

 

has there been any advice on this issue?

Bump on this, I still get this issue in DG, can connect in impulse just fine.  It would appear my private message windows aren't going through either, could be related?

I alwasy had this problem, but i have solved it for myself at least.

I too still get the excess flood message in game, but have managed to work around it.

I got pissed off one time with it not working, and decided to spam /reconnect on the screen, so as to flood it with irony. Computers sometime cause me to do irrational things.

 

It worked. I connect. I have been able to connect through impulse, but not in the game ever.

Typing /reconnect once DOES NOT work. It hasto be about 5-7 times in quick succession.

Tl;dr Spam /reconnect 6-7 times in-game irc chat if you can't connect. works for me.
