German version after buying english version on Impulse

Well, I'm happy enough with the english one

But on behalf of some players in some german game forums I'd like to know, if they can buy the german download version of the game for 40$ on impulse ... or at least buy the english one now and the german one later.

Preferably without using piratebay or such.

The Impulse version did include all of the localizations, but we're currently unable to offer them for reasons I can't go into. Hopefully the situation will change soon and we will be able to offer the European languages again.

Does it have something to do with local resellers ripping us off by demanding 50€ instead of the 30€ on Impulse ? o_O

You can rename the \Demigod\loc\US\strings_db.lua and then copy the \Demigod\loc\DE\strings_db.lua to \Demigod\loc\US\. The voices will still be english though.

There's also a german community translation that's supposed to be quite a bit better than the "official" one. Should pop up if you do a forum search.

Hi there,

as i downloaded the game for first time there was a german language included. Of course the voices were german, too. As you can see my english isn't that good -sorry for that :-/.

So if someone bought the Digital Download release then the german digital download release should not cost more than 30€, isn't it so?

There must be a way to get the german speech back on.

I got another question: will the german version use german servers?

Yes, the higher price would be with international shipping and the box charge. The download only is €28,66 as of this writing.

We are still hopeful that we will be able to get the euro localizations back, but until that happens, it will not be possible to get localized voices through Impulse (only the one for the language you pick is even downloaded, unlike the texts). For the texts alone though there is a fan translation which some others have mentioned that should suffice.

Servers should not be an issue; since the game is peer-to-peer all that you'd need to do is join or host games marked as [euro] so you are sure to get local players.
