cannot create Direct3D

every time i try to run demigod, i get an error message

"unable to start: unable to create direct3d. please ensure system has current video drivers"

so ive been trying to find the current drivers, or upates for my system from nvidia and with directx as well, but nothing i have found workd. im wondering if i need a new video card, or if im just missing something here.

im running with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphics card on my laptop here. do i need something newer/more powerful?

Is your desktop resolution 1024x768 or higher?

I have this problem too. It seemed to have been fixed when I patched to the may 11th version, but then it started again soon after and wasn't fixed after this newest patch.

 

My desktop is running at 1680x1050 right now but usually it's at 1920x1080. My gfx driver is updated, and I don't get this problem with any game besides Demigod.

yah, ive got a 17.5" screen on my pc, im usually running at 1440x900, does it need to be lower to be able to run correctly?

-ill see if i can get the newer patches as i just got the game the other day as well.

Very strange!  I tried that and while it used to fix it, it won't work anymore.  Changed the defaults to 1680,1050,60 and it will still give me the same error.  I had to re-install the game and that fixed it in the past but it seems the fix won't last for long.  I changed my nHancer settings for a different game and after that it seems the Demigod error has returned.

Don't think I'll go through re-installing the game yet another time.  : (
