Using shift+tab and going to the chat selection will pop up the chat box but i recieve the following error-
"Error: Closing Link: Firesofgreed <ip crap> (Excess Flood)"
How do i fix this?
If you're on Cox Cable and cannot access the chat, it's because they're blocking it or giving bad DNS records. You will need to set the IP address of the server manually in your HOSTS file, located at C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc. Just add the following line to the bottom of the file:
38.98.152.138 irc.stardock.com
Or alternately you can set your network settings to use a third-party DNS service such as OpenDNS, rather than using the default DNS service provided by Cox.
I don't even know what Cox Cable is so I doubt that is the problem. I remember having to use a similar solution to a problem with another game, however i dont remember the exact file to edit so im sol
Edit: Alright, I was being stupid >.<... But I've tried both of your suggestion, and I still get the same error!!! I've even reinstalled! Any idea how to fix this?
