Advanced Connection Problem

I tried everything, did I?

Hi everyone,

I first replied to the sticky-thread about all the connection issues, but because there are no answers for me I start a new one for me here.

First of all, I`ve of course read the Network-Guide from the Sticky-Threat!

I can´t connect to any multiplayer-game, cannot host a game, have tried everything I know and need professional aid.

Perhaps the following facts help our friendly supporters to help me ;)

  • My Windowsfirewall is set up properly, Demigod and Impulse app are both trusted
  • I have no AVP, no software firewall, no software at all which checks connection-permissions. Deactivating my AntiVir shows no effect.
  • I´m using the Speedport W700V, a modem-router combination by the German Telekom. You can forward ports, but cannot make specific NAT-settings. The Portforwarding is bound to my PC via MAC-Adress and should work. (Here is the Manual as .pdf in german language: Klick )
  • German Telekom with 16MBit-connection, shouldnt really block p2p-connections at all. Am not in a dorm etc.
  • I forwarded the Ports 6073, 6100-6200 (UDP) for my Computer in the Routersettings, also in combination with ImpulseReactorOptions.exe set to 6100-6200 without success.
  • The routers firewall is of course activated, has never produced any connection problem with any game. But to erase this still possible solution, i temporarily deactivated the router firewall ... and it made no difference in connectivity ingame.

Is it DSL? If so, that sort of speed would mean it has to be bonded, which is most likely your problem. We're working on deploying proxy servers and other solutions that should help.

Yes it is DSL. Hope you`ll make it work with one of the upcoming patches.

DSL is germany's most used internet connection and Demigod retail comes in the stores in the next few days. Would be a mess if almost everyone of those recognize they cannot play online :(

In the mean time, it might be worth while trying this software to confirm your ports are truely forwarded.

Thx for the info. Due to the programs results the needed ports are open.
