Need Help with UB

I've been playing for a few days, and I'm majorly stuck. I've followed all the helpful guides on here, but I'm stuck when battling. I don't seem to be able to come out on top.

I've bought all the best armour and health bonuses, but against characters that can heal, I seem pretty useless.

My grief is that if Sedna gets the same items, we've both basically got the same health and armour, but she's also got minions. Thus making everything seem very unbalanced.

What am I doing wrong?

If you go Spit + Ooze + Grasp you'll completely destroy Sedna 1v1. Her heal can't keep up with Spit + Ooze, not to mention that lvl4 Ooze cripples her normal attack (as well as minion's normal attacks). So, spit, run in with ooze on and melee. If she tries to tele or run, use grasp.

Thanks for that! I avoided Ooze as it seemed the community was utterly in conflict about its usefulness!

Well, the current build I've been going is...

  1. Spit
  2. Ooze
  3. Nothing
  4. Spit and Ooze
  5. Grasp
  6. Nothing
  7. Spit and Ooze
  8. Post Mortem
  9. Nothing
  10. Spit And Ooze
By level 10... Well ANY DG with less then 3k hp is pretty much dead if you get in grasp range with them.
As for Ooze... I just think of it as 140dps that ignores armour. Doesn't matter how much damage it does to me if they die first.
PS. Don't bother getting more then one point in grasp. It's got terrible damage/leech for it's cost. I get it purely for the 2 second stun.

Why nothing??  Why not take spit and then ooze or vice versa?  Why wait a level to take them at the same time?

Does anyone ever take the (+) at the bottom?  What is it?  Like a stat increase?  I usually take a few ranks in that here and there...  Is that a waste?

against sedna i usually get blade of the serpant, alot of people ignore her but she is an awesome charachter, the only time it really depends on what you are up against, remember you are playing against a team of people, ive noticed some other UB players using Heavens wrath + spit, Pretty cheap when mixed together.

because you can't take them till you meet the level requirement for the skill. try the build and it will become obvious.

It's a general character improvement. It ups your hp and mana pools, your regen, your damage, your attack speed, etc.

ooze isnt that good. Spit and wrath are much more essential same with grasp.

First Beast is not that good

2nd who gives you the trouble in game who are you playing against.

Is it Pantheon?

Light side only Dg beast should destroy is rook!!!

All others have good counters if even skilled if they are more skilled you just need more practice and remember if you see the numbers if they do more damage and have more hp you will die run!!!! and pick a fight you can win do not give people easy gold.

I disagree with this statement, while ooze might not be super fantastic (it's a circle of fire that can be toggled off or on and always remains around you), when combined with spit and melee it's exceptionally good. Maxed out, Spit and ooze does over 200+ a second, combine that from the incoming damage of a stun or melee and it's pretty awesome.

Wrath is a good skill also.

Too early for that much hp drain on yourself and are you going to micro ooze vs a ranged regulus with MoB and mines. NOT!!!!

On the UB strat i see u just harass dgs and focus on creeps for the beginning but when do u buy life drain items around what lvl would u say and which one

@horse sure but we could go back in forth with hypothetical situations all day. Like well then I back off and my erebus teamate uses night walkers to get rid of mines and stuns you in place so I can get into melee and kill you with auto attack + diseased claws to prevent you from getting away. Yes a mine reg CAN give you trouble but stating it as fact when it's a hypothetical 1v1 situation doesn't prove anything.

regulus this , regulus that ... regulus has ok early game ... awesome lategame...... IF you get to farm,

anyways , ub spit rush lvl 4 is as said before the best harass in game , 2x spit lvl 2 and 1-2 hits will kill alot of demigods ,, if your up against sedna go swap lanes with someone shes a bad matchup if you dont have the level advantage.

Ooze sucks, its not worth the health drain when there are other very useful skills to choose.

I disagree with that.  Ooze is amazing at clearing grunts very quickly and optimizing the gains for XP and gold from the grunts.  With Ooze I don't even have to attack the grunts; I just have to move into the center of the group.  For me this allows me to quickly outlevel my opponents and gain a higher level of Spit quicker for better harassing of DGs and for range killing towers.  Also if there are DGs that are sharing my lane, I can still gain the XP from the grunts while at the same time concentrating fully on the enemy DG.

I disagree with you again.

Ooze is just not worth it, havent got room for it in my build. Could allways get it at 19, but whats the point at that stage.

Have you ever had level 4 ooze used on you? It's downright crippling, i'll keep my ooze and ignore bestial wrath thank you. You probably get more 1 on 1 kills with ooze then you do from BW due to any smart player just turning around and running away from you, making you waste time since BW has the most obvious cast finish for UB. It's probably the 2nd easiest spell in the game to spot too. (even if you can't see UB you can hear the roar.)

It's hopeless. I can't kill Sedna as UB in any battle.

Generals seem to have ALL the upper hand and none of the disadvantages. If they buy armour at the start of the game, they and their minions prove to be unbeatable!

I dont use beastial wrath either in my build

Assuming rest is maxed that leaves 5 spare points for stats and diseased claws. I'd wager you'd do better with Ooze over stats anyday.

@Arik we can't really help as we can't see the battle so really there's only 3 things to explain why you're losing:

Sedna player is just better then you.

You're equal but you just make one more mistake then the other person

You simply can't win alone in the situation.

Leaning towards the 3rd as it's the most common one when facing sedna.

Diseased claws is vital for the gankbuild i have going focusing on speed.

Noone can run away from me.

If i go stats or ooze dosent really matter because i wont really get it untill level 17-18ish.

This is all nice and dandy when you're playing against noobs that you can force to run from you. But if you play gainst experienced players that kit themselves out properly, you'll never be able to outdamage them in order to make them run. In fact they'll beat you into pulp every single time as you're full of speed items instead of damage mitigation or +damage gear. And before you say it, no, having all this speed gear will not help you escape, if you're stunned while getting demolished.
