What video card/driver date do you have?

Yea Im having the exact same problem and its annoying because otherwise the game is perfect.  That stupid black box blocks part of the health bar and It becomes impossible to tell if youre about to die or not! lol

Anyway, PLEASE, does anyone know how to fix this issue?  I also get a similar black box that appears around the "Demigod" flaming logo on the splash screen.

I have a GeForce 8800GTS 320mb with GeForce drivers v169.21

just tried updating my drivers to the latest geforce ones to no avail...

and i also noticed that there is yet ANOTHER instance of this strange boxing around the characters in the choose character screen.

this seems to affect areas that have certain effects going on around/behind certain elements on screen.

could it be due to the fact that I am running xp so im not in dx10? however my roommate runs xp and has no problems.

does anyone have any ideas??

You know, I have the same problem, but I noticed that the box around the portrait disappears when you die. Gotta be something with the character art.

Yes, all the locations where you're seeing black boxes are bink videos with transparent backgrounds. If you're all up to date on drivers, etc., then please contact [email protected] so they can gather any details the devs might need to investigate this.
