AoE effects + hp leech items

How do they interact?

Does anybody have any numbers on how AoE damage interacts with life leech items? I was specifically thinking of a correlation between Beast's Ooze and life leech items. Given enough creeps to damage with ooze, could the life leech items offset the hp drain?

Abilities are not affected by items. So, your abilities cannot leech health... But I don't think abilities are mitigated by armor either.

 

Also, the abilities won't leach even if Lord Erebus is giving you his life steal aura.

One of the loading screen tips suggests that you can simply offset the -health from Ooze with some +health per second items. Much easier than worrying about life steal :P

Correct although givng the oak cleave with his restore hp/mana skill is pretty beast.
