Deskscapes for Vista Home Premium - Good?

Hi there.  I have the demo (can only use 5 dream files), and am considering purchasing the full version, but I want your opinion:

Is Dreamscapes worth the $19.95 (US currency I assume)?

And can someone explain why, after purchasing the full version, you also have to pay for the 'premium content' downloads?

Thanks!

You should be able to answerr this yourself better than we can answer it for you.

  1. Did you like the functionality of the included dreams?
  2. Do you wnat more dreams?
  3. Have you looked at what's available in the Wincustomize Dream gallery?
  4. Do any of those appeal to you?

If you answered yes to those questions ask yourself if it is worth X of some other thing you like.  If you like fancy coffee at $4 a cup, are the dreams available worth four of them?

In regards to the premium dreams . .  take a look at the previews.  Are they attractive enough to pay for the extra work that the creators put into it?  If not, don't bother.  If so, is whichever dream worth the trade.

I think the ability to play other dreams is worth it.  And I have bought a few of the premium dreams.

well i personally think deskscapes is worth every penny if you want to have moving desktops....second...the premium dreams are not all stardocks dreams...they are created mostly buy people who use the programs and have a MASTER status in which they are able to sell thier dreams.....actually i take some of that back as i believe there is only one MASTER dream skinner so far...but its all worth every penny if you like it:grin:

I would consider getting an Object Desktop subscription though. It includes deskscapes and also give you a bunch of other goodies.

I second this, unless you just don't see anything in the package that you like beyond DeskScapes. I think it more or less pays for itself if you want to get 2 or 3 of the apps it contains (relative to a standalone purchase).

For what it's worth, many of the folks producing premium skins for DeskScapes (like Neil Banfield and TheMasterBaron) also produce free skins, which are almost on par with the quality of the premiums.
