Skinning and general problems

I use Blinds on Vista from a little time and my expectations were most of them conform: the program is great. :congrat: Still, there are some problems with some programs. For example, Google Chrome is only partially skinned and looks strange. Safari looks even stranger, with odd behavior of the title bar and the tree up right buttons. Skype does not have shadows at all, Excel 2007 have his problems to and Nero is a total problem because the Leo skin is crushing when I us the program. 8C Shadows disappear and the entire system looks strange with black corners on the windows. To get back to the normal state of things I have to log off and log on again. :( And in general terms, there seems to be a general problem with the title bars and also the maximize – minimize Vista effect works strange and not at all times. :annoyed: What I should like to know is if there are solutions envisaged to solve this kind of problems.:-|

the Safari issues have been resolved in the last update....don't know about the rest

Not all programs are going to work well with WindowBlinds because of how they skin their interface.  For those programs that don't skin correctly you might want to open WBs configuration an exempt them from being skinned.

Yep, basically WB isnt going to skin every application perfectly, probably never will. Best advice is to exclude the apps you are having issues with.

Thank you all. Safari looks better now indeed.   I tried to exclude some of the other applications but the results are poor, especially with Nero, which besides its own skinning problem causes problems with the entire skin, even after I applied the exclusion. :\ The same with the maximize-minimize Vista effect. This are I think programming problems with WB which must be taken care of.:waaaa:

Personal experience do not let Wblinds try and skin Nero either add it to your exclusions list or unload Wblinds before running!

Nero uses so much resources it even messes with the default XP and Vista GUI. ;)

Nero actually generates some of its UI from the color palette which is set by each skin, it also contains some of its' own graphics so not only does it require alot of resources it also is generating a UI that is a mix of its own ,parts from a skin, and colors from the set color palette be it default or one set by a skin.

What about the maximize - minimize effect?

What exactly is it doing ?

It behaves erratically. 8C I mean, when I want to minimize I get the close effect or pop out effect :annoyed: or when I want to maximize I don’t get any effect at all. :S   The window just pops up like in the classic Windows skin open program command. And generally speaking, the effect, when it works does not have the same “flow” so to say like in the Aero skin. <_<

haha russianroulette windows! :) thats hilarious....

I have not heard of this problem before so its not to common i think..... does it happen on every blind?

I am under the impression that safari is not supported. (having been told this by several others)

I also get  the results  posted in reply #8. It does get changed when some WidowBlinds are applied. I change too often to keep track of which ones, but it happens. A reboot is the only way I have found to get the effects back. Unloading WB's or reapplying Aero doesn't fix it.

While we are on the subject, WindowBlinds also changes the taskbar button window thumbnails from glass-framed rounded corners to a more opaque framed, sguared corner view.

Not really a complaint,just a fyi.:sun:

In my case the situation is not quite severe. ^_^ When I revert to the Aero skin, things get back to normal. But I used only the Leo skin. I don’t know about the other skins. :|

The taskbar button window thumbnails look that way because Blinds applies its skins on the basic or classic windows skin (the Windows 98 one). Go to that one and you will see that the thumbnails look the same. ;)
