Wow. I mean wow. I thought this would be a bunch of crap, but I am pretty impressed at some of the inclusions. Superunknown is a fantastic album from the '90s, as is Ten. I won't argue with them in terms of influence. And Dirt is mindblowingliy good. Then again, I think Alice in Chains is criminally underrated when it comes to discussion of '90s music.

But to see Dream Theater in the top 20 with "Scenes From a Memory" dropped my jaw. It is an amazingly good album, progressive, moving, coherent and musically challenging. I would never have thought they would show up though, as many critics disparage them for their pretensions. But then to see "Images and Words" and "Awake" on the list???? Wow. And then to see King's X "Dogman" on the list, well, they have more taste than I would have thought. Anyone who likes rock music and hasn't heard those four albums I just mentioned (as they are some of the lesser known on the list) really owes it to themselves to check them out.

Yeah I have to agree, I was in my twenties in the nineties, and frankly a lot of this stuff I never even heard of so...

So the fact that you are ignorant of it means it is bad? Not sure what you are saying there.

Come on people, get a clue! Since when is popularity of music any sort of gauge as to how good it is or isn't? Sheesh.

Now THIS is what I wanted to see. Brilliant!

If only I owned them all... *sigh*

Everyone will always squabble over the number one spot (I couldn't even name my fave, so don't go asking!) but they've done pretty damn well. And I can't believe that Temple of the Dog made it! I am one happy camper.

After reading this list, I'm feeling nostalgic. During the grunge era, I discovered music and I have a soft spot for it.

I feel it's representative of the 90s. It has Nirvana, R.E.M. (oh how I miss old R.E.M. I heard Bad Day and cringed)., Hole ("Doll Parts" is a great rock song with a female point of view), and Oasis. Deftinely stuff I remember hearing and realizing that music can be as fulfilling as reading a great novel.

Yeah - talk about nostalgia. I'm looking at the number of these guys I've seen (Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Jane's Addiction (although that one was only recent-ish) Alanis, RHCP, Greenday, Ben Harper, Live, Silverchair, Hole, Mr Bungle, Primal Scream, Foo Fighters, At The Drive In...) and am missing the days of mosh ettiquette. The days when someone would fall over and fifty hands would reach down and lift them up. The days when people would give their water to those in need, help people search for their lost items afterwards and try not do kick people in the head with their fucking steal caps when crowd surfing!

Shit - maybe I'm just getting old?

Excellent! I loved the list, but only question # 91. Sorry, but The Crash Test Dummies did nothing for me. Oh, and I am definitely going to go and check out Dream Theatre.

Awesome. I would check out "Images and Words" first. That is probably their most accessible album. If you like that, then give anything a go. I would, however, shy away from their most recent releases "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" and "Train of Thought" as they are much more metal and less accessible. Let me know what you think! I would love to have someone here who has heard of them.

Also I was impressed to see Queensryche's masterpiece "Promised Land" on there. Another amazing work.
