You're Banned!: The Forum Game

Okay, here's what you do for this game: You have to "ban" the person who posted above you for an outrageous, silly, or funny reason. Got it?

banned for Plato had some good ideas his others stank

much of his works effected Christianity making it a mess

banned for I wanted to be sure, Oatesy.

As for Plato, he was starting with far less background than is available today, so I don't give him too much grief. As for Christianity, Christians adopted his ideas, not vice versa. Since the bible is suppose to be the root of Christianity, not Plato's work, it really would benefit them to make sure the ideas are grounded in said work, not that of a pagan.

Banned because Christianity is technically one religion. We don't all act like it though... :\

banned for there are many sects of all religions

Hindu, Buddism, Islam, etc.

Banned because I for one have a hard time defining where sects end and religions begin: Judaism, this Islams, and the Christianities all share theological similarities....

The best definition I've been able to come up with (I define things a lot) is that when they stop sharing some part of a name (i.e. if Protestants and Catholics stopped both calling themselves Christians) then they are religions and not sects.

banned for long-winded post.

banned for continuos religious discussions

It can be difficult without a thorough study of each and every religion. Especially where Judaism/Christianity/Islam is concerned as they share a lot of things. Judiasm and Christianity started out very close with the only issue being where did salvation come from. Judiasm believed it came from the Law of Moses while Christians believed that the Law of Moses was more of a tutor/model/map leading to the Messiah who gave his perfect life for all imperfect men for salvation. Islam came about when Mohammed got sick of Christianity's corruption and began his own. It gets really crazy later down the road.

Banned for implicitly rejecting the idea that Plato was more like Jon Stewart than he was like John Stuart Mill.

banned for huh?

banned for I got the gorgon thing. Guess he figures color combinations and metrosexuals go together? I dunno.

banned because I never did get the whole metrosexual concept anyways

Banned because metrosexuals are 'male' and classical gorgons are 'female.'

p.s. Self banned because the metrosexual thing works really badly when I think about it for a moment. It's one of the stupidest neologisms I've ever heard, nearly as bad as when IT folks talk about 'the cloud.'
