First win!

woohoo! Started off going for the Trade/Research route while keeping a small military (enough to defend myself). However as I was really reaching what would be my civs glory days, the UP decided that we all SHARE eachothers research freely. This wiped all my my research achievements since I handed out about 15 TECHS and recieved NONE.

P.S.: This UP events that FORCE you share tech are kind of rediculous. They need to be tweaked, either that or the ability for us the player to call UP meetings needs to be added. I dislike that all my hard fought planning can be disrupted when the rest of the galaxy decides all my advantage should be wiped out.

Anyway after the wipe I switch over to military mode, since my upperhand was wiped, but I still had a great economy going it was an easy task to systematicly wipe out each race. Ended up with a score of 768, not bad for a beginner :)

Are you playing with the most recent patch? That event was modified from all-or-nothing into an option to share 0, 5, 10, or 15 techs...

I like that event, once it saved me, once it gave away my diplomatic supperity... so what? Next time it will probably save me again from the drengins battelcruisers :D

Ohhhh that is so uninspiring..

Here's a thing though; it showed that I had a 100% alliance victory, but the game kept on going for turns afterward until I finally "ascended". Is this a bug, or have I missed something?

Play more. With 5 games submitted you're get the orange bar you see in my sig. With 5 wins submitted, you'll get a medal. Also, at some point you'll get a rank promotion (the double yellow bars I have), that I got, possibly coincidentally, when I submitted my fifth game. Last, if you want that nifty computer graphic, post through the Discussion tab within Stardock Central. :)

Oh yeah, and the double "G" graphic is my Empire logo. Join an empire to gain one of those. :)

Whew, I just played that sucka on gigantic, sub-normal and it took forevvvvvvvvvvvver.. I'll be trying it out on a smaller galaxy, I think, next.

But I still have that quesion.. maybe it needs its own thread.
