Hello McFly

(Couldn't resist).

The Monk mentioned something about this - iirc he said it would work anyway. However since you have set up the ports, that is a better option anyway imo.

I have an issue like this, but I don't know where to go to open my ports.  I'm not very techy, so use one syllable words, please.    BTW I run on XP.

1) Make an exception in your Windows firewall to open ports there (i.e. allow the program through)

2) Go to your fire and router and add rules there to allow the required ports (7000, 6000 and 6112 iirc) through and port forward 6112 to the IP address of your PC within your network.

LOL.  I have no idea what that even means.  I feel like a total anti-geek (the CD drive really isn't a coffee cup holder?).  X( I think I'll skip the hosting idea and just join games.  Thanks for the input, though, Hack78.

Alloy is supposed to remove the need for all of this BTW
