Advent questions (shield guardians)

I haven't played Advent a whole heck of a lot, and recently started trying them out.  Some questions:

1) How does the shield guardian's shielding work?  It looks like it somehow "shares" 33% of incoming damage, if I have that right?  Does that mean that 33% of the damage coming in to whatever is "shielded" goes to the shield guardian's shielding?

2) What happens when the shield guardian gets to 0 shielding?  Does it start taking hull damage?  Or does it simply not provide any more shielding?

3) Does the mothership shield recharge recharge the "shared shielding" of the shield guardian?  In other words, does the mothership synergize with the shield guardians to charge up their special ability?  Or is it simply dependent on antimatter?

4) CRITICAL QUESTION: Does the shield guardian shielding stack?  In other words, will a second one soak up an additional 33% of damage, and a third one an additional 33%, etc?  If no, then what's the best way to manage the ability?  Set all to manual cast (not autocast), then manually activate another one each time one guardian gets "used up" so that multiple ones aren't wasting their non-stacking abilities?

5) Should shield guardians be "spammed" for Advent in the same way that TEC spams robo-cruisers?  In other words, should you have 25% or more of your fleet tied up in them?

Thanks.

From what I understand,

1. Ships within the radius of a Guardian's Shield Projection (this also includes structures) will have 33% of all damage they take directed to the Guardian using the ability.

2. The Guardian stops using Shield Projection by the time its shields are depleted. It will not use SP when its shields have depleted or are near depleted.

3. The Progenitor recharges the shields of the Guardians themselves, therefore allowing the Guardian to continue using SP for a longer period of time, since it can continue to recieve damage in place of your other ships.

4. Outside of the stacking bug initially present in 1.1, no. Since Guardians can be shielded by other Guardians, in theory, if one Guardian takes 33% damage that another ship has taken, a second Guardian shielding the first can take 33% of what the first Guardian took, and so on. In effect, the damage is distributed across your Guardians, if this is how the ability works.

5. Performance-wise, its not a good idea unless you don't mind the game suddenly dropping in performance due to 10+ Guardians using SP or having to look through a sea of white just to locate a ship (the visual effects DO stack, which means that if enough Guardians are using it simultaneously, it will make that region of space solid white).
