What is this vanilla sins i keep seeing?

Ok i keep reading through mods and other things and keep running across something called vanilla sins. I have no idea what this is, yes i know it's most likely right there and it is a stupid question but it's driving me insane. I keep seeing paradise and ocean planets and I just can't figure anything out. I have impulse and, i think, the latest update for the game. So if anyone knows please let me know, no matter how dump I am.

the base sins of a solar empire without mods or entrenchment is called vanilla as it is the plain version

the oceanic and paradise planets are in the solar sins mod and all mods that include the  sins plus ie mad scientist 7deadly sins etc. they are two of the extra planet types available in these mods and have different logistics & tactical slots and differen planetary bonuses available

if you want more inforamtion about a given mod I suggest reading the mod's thread in the modding section

"Vanilla" is a general expression for an unmodded game, be it Sins or whatever. It is said to come from vanilla ice cream which is the most basic flavour.

Yea i read on that and tried to get 7DS beta but everytime I activate the mod I get a mini dump error and the game closses....so im still working on what is wrong and all that. But thank you for the help.

I got the mod converted Ordian its your choice if you want to continue with it. We tweaked it alot to add for my groups taste. Here are somethings we have changed:

Pirate raids are tougher, larger and they have shields at elevated, hard and severe lvls.

Pirate base is harder to take out tougher frigates, added capital ships and they have hanger defenses and repair bays.

We did this tweak because of the Black market bonus there. Its been reduce to 200% from 500%!

Barren planets are considered Mining planets with higher health and asteriod extraction rates.

Barren and Industial planets harder to capture since they are considered specialty planets.

Planet Bonuses system has been redone and reduce slightly, will add more later.

Also, included in the mods is the Bailknights Graphical mod.

so you do NOT need to uninstall your entrenchment/sins 1.15 &install sins 1.05 to use the planets.

if you want 7ds then I suggest waiting until it is released for the current sins version

Yeah i wouldn't recommend 7DS. A lot of people like it, but personally, i think of it as a chaotic mess of mods stapled together.

Yeah, I really hate that term. It serves absolutely no purpose to call it vanilla. Just call the game by its name, and the mod by its name. There is no need to say vanilla.

Previously, you wrote "I have impulse and, i think, the latest update for the game" ... 7DS is for sins 1.05 ... last sins version ( your ) is 1.15 ... the 7DS 2.5 will be for the last sins version... will begin work on it once 7DS 2.0 is out...

What chaotic mess ???... the base of 7DS is solar sins... the natural evolution of the Uzii mod who was given to Danman by Uzii when he have discontinued sins+... for the rest ( main part ), 7DS is made of 11 race... 3 from the vanilla game... the empire is shared with a other mod but a lot of work was made on it by some people of the 7DS team... the remaining race can only be found in 7DS...

 

On the other way, several mod use sins+ who was given to the 7DS team, several mod use solar sins who was created by the 7DS team... several mod ( Halo mod, EvilTesla Pirate mod, Doylnick stargate mod, Andromeda mod, etc ... ) have ask or/and receive support from the 7DS team...

 

That you don't like it is not a problem... no one mod or game can please everybody... but calling our mod a "chaotic mess" is a insult... hope that it is only a poor choice of word and not really a intended insult...

who cares, Vanilla is the unchanged version of the game and some lacking taste buds, decent sense of smell, ability to differentiate between fine texture changes and color gradiations might be overwhelmed if we took away their big mac and gave them something a bit more exotic.

Obviously you have some aggression towards me, or 7DS, from some pent up feelings from last year.  Or maybe your not clued it to what is currently going on with 7DS, and have not yet seen anything on the latest version.  Or, you simple don't care about the countless people who have put in thousand's of hours into the mod.  I have personally logged at least 1500 hours into this mod.  So please, before you insult someone, or a group of over 900 people, please get your facts straight.  We have had dealings in the past you and I, and quite frankly I am dissapointed that you acted in this manner.  I thought highly of you....

Now, if you care to actually experience what 7 DEADLY SINS is, and perhaps change your story....look for it tomorrow.  Because it is coming out then.  But make sure your Sins is 1.05.
