Also a TECH Problem

One Question and a Complaint

>:( Question #1- Has anyone had a problem with Microsoft C++ RUNTIME errors? This is prohibiting me from opening SOASE. (P.S. This error also co-insides with the symultaneious updates of SOASE, Windows Vista, and the really rather shitty Macafee)

Complaint- Why did Microsoft Windows decide that it would be a bright idea to compleatly do away with the tech. savy user friendly ways of the past? Vista is totally FUBAR, the user can no longer browse his/her computer and view any file they wish to, they now must travel over the river through the woods and past freakin grandmaws house to even be in the right area, and when they arrive at their destination the files are often hidin, or in a compleatly bogus location! (sorry had to vent to someone may as well be the readers) :cylon:

The issue is the new update.  If you have any custom maps predating 1.14, the game will crash when you start it.  Remove any custom maps from your galaxy folder, and the game should launch.

I've had a similar problem, but not recently (dunno if this was fixed or not)

If I've been playing Sins for 3 hours or so, the game will suddenly freeze and the only thing I can do (other than move the mouse) is hit the windows button (start menu)  I then proceed to get a message saying "This program has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please..."  the program then auto-closes and anyhting I had done since the last autosave is trashed.

Your correct in your assumption that it is a similar problem... I did fix the problem though... I ran a full diagnostics and deleated a GB worth of Temp files and mod's and so on a so forth, In the end though that only allowed me to run the game for 2 mins tops and I could not navagate away from the Main menu.  Long story short I ended up getting severly pissed off and uninstalling, then re-installing the game... I was lucky however in the aspect that I had no recent games that I had been working on so I lost nothing... the longest part of the freakin procest was that Impulse updated my version of SOSAE... and would only use 100kbps at some points out of my available 100mbps soo... I would suggest finnishing any games that you have going on and then re-install all updates and the game itself.
