[Bug] Connection, NAT and Lobby

Hi everybody.

 

I can't connect to a lobby. It says "Beginning Nat connection", "Nat connection in progress" or "Connecting to players" and stays so forever. I can only join some people's lobby, and when I host a lobby, only some persons can see it and join, very strange...

 

I've got Optical Fiber (with Orange France) and a Livebox.

I live in France too and I've the same problems except nobody can join the games I host.

I'll still have to find a game I can connect to. Sometimes my Nick is green in the Beginning NAT Transversal Screen sometimes it stays yellow. Location is Germany.

what wahngrok said, except I rarely even get there, usually just stuck in "player name" blank screen. Can't host too - no one can join in. Never played a custom game.

My problems are mainly solved through Wagnards help and an update of my router firmware. I had to open some ports though.

which ports ? I opened port 6073 ( both on the windows and router firewalls ), since I saw this is the default port when I try to host. I also tried DMZ on the router and offing the windows firewall altogether. Still the same.

I have no other problems with internet and I play FA online regularly.

If DMZ doesn't work you should probably update your firmware. It worked for me at least.

At the moment I have opened ports 1700-2500, 6000-6300 and 50000-60000 triggered on port 6073. These are probably much more than needed but I haven't yet had the time to test which ones I can close without connection problems. The problem at the moment is a bug that the set range of ports with the ImpulseReactorOptions.exe is just used for one port, the other nine ports can be anywhere in the regions I defined. This bug will hopefully be fixed in the next update.

Well, at least in 3B I was able to host a game, and though no one could join in I could play around with conditions and fill demigods. Now in 3C when I try to host I get "unable to create HostCVP " ( I don't remember the wxact wording, same as a previous poster said ). Now only pantheon games work.
