New To Skinning

Hiya All SisterSpirit here!! Want to start this off by saying WOW!!! to all of you that make such awsome skins and theme's for Windowblinds you all ROCK!!!  I hope that some day soon I will be able to make some nice skin's like everyone else does.  My fav's are the ones that have awsome graphic's in the start menu and taskbar. I haven't got any of that figured out yet but I am hoping that someone is willing to help me learn it all.  So please if any of you know of any great skinning help pages for skinstudio6 please let me know or if you know how yourself and are willing to post me some tips I would be very thankful.  I got Object Desktop for Val-day from my husband he Rocks LOL and there is so much I have to learn and am very excited about getting to learn it all.  Well thanks for droping by and reading this.  Have a Great Day to all.

SisterSpiri to start with you should probably go through the WinCustomize Wiki.

There is a lot of usefull information about the programs that come with Object Desktop and some tutorials and links to other helpful posts.  http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Main_Page

Don't be afraid to jump into sks6 headlong and just "figure it out."

Also, find other well designed skins (try to stick to master skinners if you can--vStyler, Tiggz, NightTrain, to name a few) and study them. See how they were done, and why certain settings were used. Make copies of skins and change things to see what happens.

Once you begin your blind, be prepared to spend several months hashing it all out.

Oh, and don't ever become content with the quality of your own work! :thumbsup:

Welcome to the wonderful (and sometimes frustrating) world of skinning! :grin:   Like Philly said, use the tuts in the wiki, and when you get stuck on something, ask for help in the forums. This is a great place full of helpful people!
