[JOIN GAME ISSUE]

Beta 3.

I have never succeeded in joining a game in the previous versions of the Beta, even though others could easily join my games when I hosted.

Now, with Beta 3, my situation is worse !

In the previous versions, I could easily abort the joining process when it took too much time.

Now, when I try to join a game, I get stuck on the full-screen image of the "angels" with swords and sunset. I can move my mouse cursor, but my whole screen is filled by the colored image of the angels with sunset : there is nothing else, nothing to click.

There is no immediate, easy to perceive way to abort a joining process. I pressed all the keys from Escape to F12, and I could not exit that angels-with-sunset image. My cursor was not frozen, but there was no obvious way to abort the endless join-game process.

I was not going to stare at that screen for dozens of minutes, so I did the Windows control/alt/delete trick and killed the Demigod program.

For me, that is worse than before : I still do not seem to be able to join a game, but now, I cannot easily abort the fruitless join-game process to come back to the lobby to attempt something else.

Maybe I'm dumb and I miss something obvious. If such is the case, it is much less obvious than the previous way to cancel a join-game process.

Please enlighten me if you know the obvious cancel-join-game trick I do not seem to grasp.

Tonight, there was some very slight progress in my attempting-to-join-games saga.

The screen with the angels and the swords became the background to a smaller center screen displaying this information :

« NAT Traversal Complete. Connecting to Players.

[My player nick in green]

[Another player nick in green] »

Wait. Wait. Wait. Minutes pass ... Nothing happens.

I click "Cancel" ... Minutes pass.. Nothing happens.

I press control/alt/delete, and something does finally happen :

The Windows Task Manager opens, and I terminate this incompetent Demigod.exe program.

Say what you will against Microsoft : control/alt/delete does work! ...
