A decade of Stardock and Object Desktop!

One very happy customer.

Tomorrow is an auspicious day for me in my relationship with Stardock. On February 19th, I will officially have been a subscriber to Object Desktop for ten full years! In that time I have had only a handful of real issues, all of which have been either interoperability problems, or issues with beta builds. I have run ODNT on every flavor of windows from 98SE onward, even a tiny stint in ME, gag.

In all this time I have never thought about not renewing my subscription.

I want to thank The Frogmeister and company for all their help over the years and for giving my Windows life so much more flair. And even more so, I want to thank all the artists past and present for their work and the great enjoyment I get from seeing and using their inspirations to make my computers so much less mundane.

Thanks all of you and here's to another 10 years!

Subscriber, no I think, member, no thats a different story.  I don't think Stardock had subscribers back in 98.  If I'am wrong, let me know.

WOM...I think WC membership came with the SD purchase back then. I could be wrong, though.

No, you only needed to register if you wanted to post in the forums (and maybe skin comments?) until something like 2003. You could still download skins tho.....

I was big on anonimity back in those days so I didn't register until I had to.

Yep....yer wrong...

Wincustomize wasn't around 10 years ago....it was born on March 21, 2001....or was that 20....

'twas a while ago....;)

Souvenirs, souvenirs...

Oh and the obligatory screenshot (sorry Neil :-" or whoever was responsible for that work of art).

Ah, the 'good old days' ;p

You know, Stardock still sends me a link to WindowBlinds 1.3 - download seems to work too, though I haven't gone through with it.

I do believe they/we opend for membership registrations on March 21., but the site was online before that - according to the [waybackmachine] ;)

Damn... the site layout has come a long way since then ;)

Hawkeye666 - here's to another decade of fun and skinning!

I wish I had that dinosaur for my kids tenth birthday last year.

Wom.

You are confusing Wincustomize, not even in existance when I started subscribing to the Object Desktop Network software collection. ODNT has to my knowledge always been subscription based.

And if I'm not mistaken Neil wasn't with Stardock yet when I started. The cursor program was a seperate application that was aquired later. And I had already purchased it prior to it becoming Stardock.

Neil correct an old man's fuzzy memory if need be.

/me tries to do the math but I'm pretty sure Neil's been around ten years or more....;)

Neil's been around since Adam was a lad...

I could easily be confusing developers. So I would bow to the knowledge of insiders without hesitation.

Congrats Hawkeye!  Thank you for your customer loyalty and kind words.  We will work hard by introducing new and innovative products (like Fences addition to Object Desktop 2010!) to make sure you stick around for another ten!

What Stardock products do you use most?

Hm, I have to check mine, think I may have my ODNT decade anniversary next year.

At least I still get my link to WindowBlinds 1.3, too. :-D Also great memories back to DesktopX in it's 0.n realease stage... Some 'pioneer' feeling back then...

Better late than never, yeah?

I use Windowsblinds, CursorFX, and Icon Packager all the time. Logon and Tweak I also use quite a bit.

I have become dependent on Multiplicity as well because it allows me to run two separete VPN connections one from each of my home machines to work one to my Prod machine and one to my Dev machine without the bottle neck of running both RDP sessions over one VPN connection.
