Quick question!!

Hi all I have a quick question to ask,

I love sins and have been playing it since launch....but always alone.

My friend has just got sins and we want to start a massive game (Random - 5 star - 105 planets) with bots with teams unlocked but we want to start right next to one another.

So far we have tried changing our player number but the positions seems random.

Is there a way to set player positions so we are next to one another? (say lock teams and start the game....save then unlock teams?)

we want to start a game now so the quicker the answer the better.

Thanks!

ugh, beats me. I don't there is a way to guarantee. often enough, you even have members of the other team in your system/ side of the map.

I never tried it, but: you could start the game, explore the map and if you're not together, save the game. then host the saved game and switch places with the allied ai's (so, occupy your friends former place with an ai and have an ai slot next to you open for other players), so that you are together. no idea whether it works, it might.

sry, never had the situation lately, hope it works for you.

I think you can do this with galaxy forge. It's been a while since I've mucked around with it (been doing beta testing) but from memory was able to edit player 0, player 1, player 2 and so on to a specific planet.

Have a muck around with editing the planet templates by double right clicking on the planets in the forge. Also the galaxy templates in the edit tab at the top left corner of the forge screen.

You can also edit existing maps through the file tab then press open. Should give all galaxy files in Sins.

Also try going to Local disc(C;)/Programfiles/Stardock Games/sins of a solar empire/galaxy (for vistas). then pick the map file you wish to edit, and open it in note pad. You can customize what you want in there also.
