Cannot Watch AI Opponents Battle Sequences

Hello.. I have 2.02, under options, interface, I have the option selected to "Watch Opponents Battle Sequences" but after every turn, it never shows any of them. I know it doesn't show the whole battle (dont want to watch all that anyway), but it doesn't pan the camera around in between turns and show the battles happen on the main map.

Is there another option that affects this? Or does it just never show AI battles on the main map inbetween turns?

Reason I wish to see it happen, is so I know whom tends to win certain battles, I often try to get powerful AI's to match up with eachother to wear eachother down, but don't want one to gain any significant advantage.

-Uncheck Show Full Fleet Battles Only If Both Sides Are Fleets
-Check Move Camera To View Attacks
-Check Show Opponent's Battle Sequences (already done, it would seem)
-Set Battle Length (Instant, Quick, Normal, Full)
-Check Full Fleet Battles

I would think this is the one that is stopping you from viewing the battle sequence :)

I see my own battles, but like in Civ3 or 4, in between turns you see other AI opponents battling it out, that's what it never shows (or it does but extrememly rarely). I think I have all those things checked/unchecked how you said. battle length is on Full... I'll have to go see though to make sure.

But if I understand right... when you guys hit the "next turn button", within parts of the map that are 'unfogged' you will see an AI opponent attack another AI opponent. Because it does show full battles if I am attacked (although camera doesn't move and show where it happened at, even though Im pretty sure that I have that checked)

If the camera doesn't move and you have it checked to move, with length set to something other than instant, then you're glitched.  But you probably don't have it checked to move.

Ok, here's a screenshot of my interface options:

I have everythiing set according to how you said.. i did change Battle Length to Normal (just to test) and then it did move camera to show ships attacking MY units... but still did not move camera to show other AI ships attacking other AI ships.

Strangely, your current view screen must (or should) display the general region (zooming helps, since it's widening the viewable area ON screen) near these battles for it to popup the usual sequences... but, this is also dependant of the options selected as shown above. It's just like the engine does the normal verifications for remaining turns of our ships (if we have the followup with camera option on or not, btw) and loops out of the stack flow when any AIs vs AIs battles are occuring ***while*** the UI is within some reasonable distance of the events.

I've noticed that when something happens in the FoW, no options will allow for the 'UI' to switch over to these locations either.

I just read the pdf file of the manual for further explanation on all the options, and so, unlike how Civ3 would show every single unit's movements and battles (as long as they were not in a fogged area), GC2 apparently does not do that, and only shows the battle if the camera happens to be on that area while it happens. That is a shame, because I would prefer to know what civ's are winning wars against each other, as I tend to not want a particular civ to become overally powerful. It saves time from me having to check and try to remember who owned what planets every turn.
