Similar problem here....mine crashes during installation and if I close the "stopped working" dialog (twice) it completes the install. I use te "verify installation" and it says installed correctly so I try to run and it crashes. I tried the new version last night but it's the same results.

I've got a ticket open with Curt already.....so far we haven't figured it out....Vista Home Premium SP1 on an ASUS F8va Laptop.

any news?

none that's good......I'm convinced it's going to turn out to be some system driver/software conflict

The most common cause fo SP crashing is a bad theme.  Try moving all your themes to a different folder and see if it still crashes.  If it fixes it, move them back one at a time until you find the culprit.

I had the same problem. I found this in one of the forums, and followed the directions and it worked for me, I have not had a problem since.

Start > run > %AppData%\Stardock\

Then delete the sound packager folder.

The program should work fine after this. It worked for me anyway.

I had this problem last year ,SP would crash while loading the packages. Deleting the app data folder fixed it for me and it has worked ever since with no further problems.

I recently installed it, just for the heck of it, as i am not really a sound effects type of person, anyways, it ran ok for a couple of days, but my pc acted "weird" at times, well on the 3rd day, the sounds were extremely distorted, and then stopped working all together, so the uninstall etc, and i am back to normal,I agree with Lantec, some type of driver/software conflict, now i have reached the stage where i am really curious as to why it behaved like it did, Oh i am running windows vista home premium SP1
