[Temp Fix]Ent. Beta 2 Brings Crashes

Hate to be the first with bad news about the new Beta, but all previous versions of Sins were rock solid stable for me, and Beta 2 crashes within 3-5 minutes of starting a game every time now.  I haven't timed it, but it's pretty much clockwork.  Colonize the first planet, BAM!! CTD.  Doesn't happen with any specific event though, it happened once when I was manually forcing a colony ship to colonize the planet, and other times I wasn't even looking in the system.  Was playing as Advent each time.  Also, if I keep saving the game constantly, I can load and play for another couple of minutes before it crashes.

Is this an intervention bug to keep me for playing it for 8 hours????  lol

This is my first post for this Beta, what more information do you guys need?  Is there a log or dump file to post?

System specs are:

Try turning down your graphics down to the lowerest settings, turn off bloom and thing like that.

Yup, that did it.  Disabled bloom and turned all adjustable settings from Highest to High.  So far so good.

Just to be clear, all previous versions ran perfectly with everything maxed out so this bug was introduced with Beta 2.  Hope it helps!!!

it was in beta 1 as well. the devs stated that the textures have not been optimized yet

I'm having this problem with Beta 2 as well, but not Beta 1.  Go an 8800 Ultra, which ought to handle anything Sins throws at it.  And this is with low graphics settings.  It just starts creating minidump, then crashes dead.

Same problem, but my machine isn't CTD, it's BSOD! Nothing else I've thrown at it crashes the OS except for Beta 2. I have a GTX 260 with nearly a gig of video ram. Previously Sins was stable after I updated my drivers. Crashews would be to the desktop, not Bluescreen, OS failure. It's obviously not the video cards failure, as it works fine in everything else.

Needless to say I am not happy. I can't even beta test the game, it autocrashes within a minute of dropping into actual play (the pregame setup stuff still works fine.)

Yeah. I've had it crash 4 3/4 hrs into game. I'd never had a crash before during the game play in beta 1 either. It did used to crash when exiting to main menu from the stats page before but I have'nt had that with beta 2 as yet. It seems to have crashed this time doing an autosave. I tried reloading the autosave, in this case autosave 19 but the game just minidumped again. Then I tried loading the previous autosave (18) and the game works fine again and have been able to continue to progress.

I've sent the dump file to support, hopefully its not too big of an issue.

The textures aren't fully optimized. No matter how powerful your machine or video card is, it will run out of memory or overload the driver. Reduce your texture detail settings etc and u should be fine. 99% of the crashes/dump files sent to support are caused by this and successfully resolved. We'll be releasing an optimized version soon.

I have a problem like this except it takes me about 15 min...just random points into the game. I have now become too addicted to the graphics to turn them down.....I can't even play....I just sit there till the game crashes or I get killed. Please hurry with the fix >.>

I had the same thing except it takes about 15 minutes. Also allong with textures optimized can we *hint hint wink wink* get some multi core in there. I'm sick of my computer running at 100% even though i have 4 cores. one core maxes out and sins runs wiht quite a bit of lag
